[00:00:01] Speaker A: Oh no, it didn't work. [00:00:04] Speaker B: Wait a moment. [00:00:05] Speaker A: Try again. That's the first time that's ever happened. [00:00:08] Speaker B: Hang on. No, really? [00:00:09] Speaker A: I wonder if we've rusted. We're live on some other channels, we're just not live on X. Cool. I'll play the music for fun. [00:00:17] Speaker B: Okay. I don't know what happened there, folks. Snapping frames, chasing light, shadows. [00:00:37] Speaker A: Lucinda's buffing a little bit. [00:00:39] Speaker B: Yeah, lean into it, kiddo. [00:00:42] Speaker A: It's getting you. [00:00:45] Speaker C: Pretty catchy. [00:00:46] Speaker B: Is this cultural appropriation? [00:00:48] Speaker A: I don't know, but it's catchy. [00:00:51] Speaker B: It is. It's good actually. [00:00:53] Speaker A: But it is AI. And that. That makes me feel dirty. But other than that it's all good anyway. [00:01:00] Speaker B: Well, g' day everybody. Welcome back to the Camera Life podcast. It is. I can't believe it's already the 20th of October. What happened to the first three weeks of October? They just disappeared. This is the random photography show and you are watching or listening to episode 125, which in itself is a milestone. [00:01:17] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:01:17] Speaker B: And worth celebrating with the pay rise. But yeah. Welcome back everybody. We have a packed show for you tonight, of course, because last week was our post BFOP wind down. We needed some time off. Justin was still Justin and Jim was still shooting a job. Even after bfop I had a nap to take. So we didn't come to you last week but we are here now and we have an action packed show. But first and foremost we've got a really important guest. We've got a pair of guests obviously, but we are joined by Lucinda Goodwin, friend of the show. G' day kiddo. Hello, how are you? Hey, good, welcome back. [00:01:52] Speaker C: How are you guys? [00:01:53] Speaker B: And ah, yeah, fair, good. Very good. And of course we, we're joined by. Yeah, we're joined by Corey from Liminal Gallery in Geelong. G' day Corey. Welcome to the show. [00:02:07] Speaker D: How you going? [00:02:08] Speaker B: Thank you. [00:02:08] Speaker D: Thanks for having me. [00:02:09] Speaker B: Thank you. Pleasure. Now, as a first timer, there is an initiation ceremony but we only have a few minutes so we'll skip it for now. But, but Lucinda and Corey are joining us today to talk about Liminal Gallery. The team at Liminal need a little bit of help to keep things moving along. But first I just want to hear from maybe Corey and then Lucinda about your involvement with Liminal and, and you know, what's happening at the moment. So Corey, do you want to give us a bit of a rundown on, on what sort of services and facilities you have at Liminal? [00:02:41] Speaker D: Yeah, for sure. So Liminal Gallery and Lab has been around now for five years. The lab side has been around for 10, but we took over that in 2023, so only a few years. We are primarily a commercial gallery that exists to nurture artist dreams and be a center for creative excellence. That's kind of like our 30 second elevator pitch. But realistically we're a commercial space with an artist run initiative kind of heart, not for profit kind of heart. Although we are a commercial gallery and lab and so we service kind of the Geelong Surf coast and Ballerina area. We support artists that are coming up. So our real focus is kind of early to mid tier artists and photographers and we have a lab as well. So we process color, black and white film on site and yeah, service kind of the local community here with that as well. [00:03:48] Speaker B: Nice, nice. Thanks for sharing that with us. And, and so Lucinda, why did you get a spot on tonight's show? What's your involvement with Liminal? [00:03:57] Speaker C: So I moved into the studio space about four months ago. I've exhibited with Liminal a few times in group shows. There's been lots of amazing group shows that I've been a part, part of. But mainly I'm creating portrait work out of, out of a studio upstairs from where Corey is sitting right now. So. [00:04:17] Speaker B: Yeah, nice. Very cool, very cool. And so at the moment you guys, Cory, I'm talking to you, sorry, at the moment yourself and Harriet, your partner and you're obviously co, co owners, co runners of the space. You're seeking some kids community support to keep things moving along, to keep the, keep the doors open basically. [00:04:38] Speaker D: Yeah, that's right. Yeah. It's been a particularly tough kind of 12 to 18 months economically. Like everyone knows that the cost of living crisis is in full effect and as a small business that runs pretty lean. It's just the two of us. Yeah, we've taken a massive hit especially over this last kind of winter where film processing is way down and yeah, there's just not the, I guess commercial availability and discretionary funds for people to spend money on art and invest in, in what we're doing. So. Yeah, but it's been a particularly tough kind of 12 to 18 months. [00:05:26] Speaker B: Yeah, it sounds like it. We're really sorry to hear that. And so Lucinda, that obviously puts at risk your space, your, your creative space. If Liminal shots then you're, you're basically homeless. From a, from a creative point of view. [00:05:39] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:05:40] Speaker B: Which obviously we don't want to see. So Corey, what, what can folks do? I'm going to bring up the website, but if you can just talk us through what people can do to, you know, to help out, to support Liminal Gallery, to support, you know, a local Victorian art space. What should people do? [00:06:01] Speaker D: Yeah, for sure. So with, there's probably two major things that people can do. If you're an artist and you'd like to donate a work to a. The raffle that we're running this Saturday, you can do that by going to our website, then clicking on Save Liminal and then there's a form just on that link down there that says donate. You can click that, fill in your details and the work that you'd like to donate. It actually doesn't even need to be a work. It could be a service. So maybe you're a photographer, you want to offer a photo session. Maybe you're an artist and you're running workshops and you want to offer a ticket to a workshop class that you're doing. It's a really great way to be involved in supporting us. And we're really grateful for all the donations we've had so far. And the other way that people can help us is if you're not an artist and you do have some discretionary spending, you can buy a raffle ticket and they start at $20. There's a heap of different options. So they go up to 300 for 30 tickets. And you will be entered into all of the amazing prizes that are coming through, so which will be up in the next 24 hours for people to par, bruise and hopefully get your hands on. [00:07:27] Speaker B: Yeah, we look forward to seeing what's on offer there. I mean, obviously the, you know, the prize is a nice takeaway, but more importantly, you're supporting a local creative space. And, and there's also going to be a lucky straps gift pack in there too, guys. [00:07:42] Speaker D: Yeah, there is. [00:07:44] Speaker B: Really exciting. Yeah, well, we're happy to help. It's. [00:07:47] Speaker A: I want to win it. [00:07:48] Speaker B: Always, always, always happy to spend Justin's money. [00:07:50] Speaker C: So I think that's what your email said to me when I asked. [00:07:55] Speaker B: No, I believe I said I am a God at spending Justin's money. [00:07:59] Speaker C: Yes. [00:07:59] Speaker B: The amount of freebies I gave. The amount of freebies I gave away at befop, he hasn't worked them all out yet, but he will eventually. [00:08:06] Speaker A: Sneaky. [00:08:06] Speaker B: I am a little. I'm a little cheeky. So, yeah. So as, as Corey said, guys, there's two really easy ways to participate. If you're a working photographer or if you're, you know, you, you do some fine art, you want to donate a piece that can go into the Raffle then that's amazing. Or like you said Corey, you can offer a service. So if you're already running a workshop say in the next couple of weeks and you could probably squeeze one more person in and make that seat an actual prize for the for liminal, then it's an easy win for everybody. And then finally obviously you can buy some raffle tickets and, and just provide direct support. Especially if you're talentless, I imagine Justin, you'll be choosing that option. [00:08:46] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. I mean I could, I could offer a photo shoot but someone would be sad if they want it. So are there any prizes? You said you've got to upload them all soon and they'll be going up on the website soon. Is there anything you can give a little teaser of any of the ones that are off the top of your head that we might be able to. [00:09:05] Speaker D: Yeah. So I guess the most high profile prize is a print of your choice from Ronan. The Australian artist is juong born and bred but has garnered international kind of recognition for the large scale murals and installation work that he does. So he's just completed a 1818 portraits on the new Geelong exhibition building and they're. It's absolutely huge. So yeah, it's opportunity. You get a code and you get to select a print of your choice from his website. So that's really awesome. [00:09:44] Speaker B: That's very cool. Yeah, yeah, it's really generous which is great. Very cool. Well look, we won't keep you guys much longer. I'm sure you've got lots to do, Lucinda and, and you too Corey. You've got young children so I'm sure that the, the witching hour is upon you. But is there any, anything else you want to share with us just before we finish up with you tonight? [00:10:10] Speaker C: I'm also going to be doing headshots on Saturday as well as part of sort of raising some funds as well. So it's $60 for a 10 minute session. You get to pick black, white or gray backdrop and all that money goes to the same fund of, of helping the gallery as well. So if you're in Geelong between the hours of 11 and 2, luckily the, the prize, the raffles getting drawn it too. So if you stick around you might be able to take your print or your service or whatever, it might be home. But yeah, I'm doing headshots if you need a new one and you're in. [00:10:46] Speaker A: Geelong and, and will that be just like walk in lineup kind of deal? You don't have to make a specific time appointment or anything. You just wait in line and just walk on in. [00:10:57] Speaker C: I love, I'm hoping I don't create a line at the door, Corey. I apologize if I do. [00:11:01] Speaker D: So I'm looking forward to the lines at the door. That'd be great. [00:11:05] Speaker B: Yeah, that's what we want, more lines out the door. Well, look on that note, thank you both so much for joining us and taking time out of your night to talk about something that's really important Here at the Camera Life and at Lucky Straps, we're all about supporting community. So we're so glad that we could lend a hand with this and if at any time you guys want to come on and give us a progress update, we'd certainly love to make space for you. But yeah, yeah, thank you. [00:11:28] Speaker D: That'd be awesome. Thank you so much. And yeah, thank you to again like for all the support from the community. Yeah, we're as a gallery, we're really grateful and yeah, personally from like Harriet and I, yeah, really grateful for the support that we've had and the community that's come around us really means a lot. [00:11:45] Speaker B: Yeah, it's great to see and it's important to see at times like this. So. [00:11:50] Speaker A: Yeah, thank you. [00:11:51] Speaker B: All right, well, we'll let it. Leave it at that. We'll let you go. Unless you want to stay around for the whole show. We've, you know, it's complete. [00:11:58] Speaker C: I'll just go lurk in the chat. [00:12:02] Speaker B: Cheers. All right, guys, thanks for joining us. We'll see you soon. [00:12:05] Speaker A: All right. All right. I should find out who is. [00:12:16] Speaker B: Okay, I'll just. [00:12:22] Speaker A: Now Philip Johnson was first in the chat, but I reckon I saw Dennis Smith in there at about 10:30 this morning. I don't know what he was hanging out. It was 10:50am Yeah, I saw that but it didn't come up on here so I can't bring it up that which is sad but. Good evening, Philip Johnson. Remember, what happens at BFOP stays at bfop. Unless it's. [00:12:41] Speaker B: Very good point, Philip. [00:12:43] Speaker A: We will go for a little bit of a beef up recap. I've called it Greg's FOP because it'll mainly be checking out some of Greg's photos and because we might do, we'll see if we can rope in Matt and Nick and do a bit of a broader special beef up show in the next week or two. We'll see. They're pretty busy this time of year but yeah, see if we can get them on. Otherwise we might do one with some other people. But we'll check out Greg's fop. Good evening, Dave Digifrog. Good to see you. John Pickett. Good to see you. Lisa Leach. Liz Okie. Lisa's already sent some images through. I've got a few images to look at tonight, so it's, it's not too late. If you want to email some images to justinuckystrapes.com we can check them out at the end of the show. Anything, anything you'd like. Just not too many, you know, one to five. [00:13:33] Speaker B: I've only got a folder of about 140. [00:13:35] Speaker A: I know, I saw it. Do you, do you have. Do you have the monochrome selection that you uploaded onto the Beef up page somewhere handy? Damn. No, they're scattered all through your folder. But that, that selection, that's the only images I've looked at so far because I was gonna not look at any and then they just popped up and I was like, ah, but they're so good. [00:13:57] Speaker B: Oh, thank you. [00:13:58] Speaker A: That collection itself, and that's where I was like that. That process of curating images down is so important to a set. And that set that you picked and they were all black and white, that was. I really liked those images. [00:14:13] Speaker B: Oh, thanks, mate. Yeah, it was. [00:14:15] Speaker A: I'll pull them up on the Facebook page or something. [00:14:16] Speaker B: Yeah, okay, we'll do that. That's easier because they're all in one handy spot. [00:14:21] Speaker A: Yeah, we'll talk about that later. But yeah, I've already said. Yeah, already said hi to Liz. Tony says Jim finally grew a pop of beard. No, no, that was Corey. But he did, you know. I guess that's what Jim would look like with a. More of a. Good evening. [00:14:36] Speaker C: Paul. [00:14:37] Speaker A: Ian Thompson. What's up? [00:14:38] Speaker B: Hey, guys. [00:14:40] Speaker A: Rick Nelson, Neil Leach, Brendan Waits. He says. G', day, lads. Good to see you. Ah, Matthew Garberg. Hey, guys, when's that vlog coming out? [00:14:51] Speaker B: Yeah, you promised us a promise. It's a vlog, man. [00:14:54] Speaker A: Waiting. Let us know when it's done. Good to see you, Lucinda. Thank you. Thanks for coming on. Good luck. Maybe I'll try and get down and get a. The world's cheapest headshot on Saturday. Yeah, Nothing going on for a drive. Three hour drive for a 60 headshot. Seems like worthwhile. Matthew Garbage. I can't even talk tonight. Keen for Greg's fop. I want to see the Fuji pics. Yeah, it's almost done. It better almost be done. Don't let it almost be done. Just upload it now. Yeah, you just got it. [00:15:27] Speaker B: Lean into it. That's my Favorite saying these days, Lean into it. [00:15:29] Speaker A: Lean into it. [00:15:31] Speaker B: Just lean into it. Like, you know, it works for everything. [00:15:34] Speaker A: That's what you call girl math. To try driving a five hour round trip for a 60 headshot. Yeah, I mean, it seems it's a great deal. [00:15:43] Speaker B: Yeah, but. But it is a good cause and it's an important cause. So if any of you guys can get behind it in any way, you know, I'm sure they'd be super grateful. [00:15:52] Speaker A: Yeah, I'll be buying some raffle tickets. [00:15:54] Speaker B: Yeah, I bought a few. No, I bought one so far. [00:15:58] Speaker A: Yeah, well, don't buy one and then one and then one. It's cheaper to buy. [00:16:01] Speaker B: I know, I know. I could bring up a photo of you and your 90 in a minute and then that'll. That'll shut you up. [00:16:10] Speaker A: Now, speaking of, we've got to catch up on a heap of your comments. We're going to catch up on a lot of news and rumors. There's cameras coming. Coming down the pipe. You said there might be a camera. Fuji. [00:16:23] Speaker B: There will be a Fuji camera announced in three days. [00:16:26] Speaker A: Do you know what it is? [00:16:26] Speaker B: I guarantee it. My. This, this bone is aching. And that always aches when there's a Fuji camera coming. [00:16:32] Speaker A: Have you signed any kind of NDA? Or. We can just speculate away. [00:16:37] Speaker B: We can speculate away. I know nothing. Well, or do I? Let's. [00:16:42] Speaker A: Let's hope it doesn't have a fake film winder and it's got ibis. Now what we get? Oh, yeah, I gotta look at. I gotta look at all the YouTube comments because it's been a couple of weeks and there's quite a few. So we'll bring them up. [00:16:54] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:16:54] Speaker A: So I guess I should change this to viewer comments with my sound effect. [00:17:01] Speaker B: Right? Let's get into it. [00:17:04] Speaker A: Let's get into it. Which one of these is the right one? That one. Okay, let's read these out. I can't even read anymore. Okay. Craig Carrick said, good luck, guys. So we did. If you guys didn't see any, we did live streams from the bright festival of photography straight out of our Airbnb and actually worked out pretty well other than the first test, which was absolute garbage because it wasn't fast enough. But we figured it out and, and we got there in the end. So it was, it was good fun. We had lots of special guests. [00:17:39] Speaker B: And I must applaud you for being prepared for that. Like, I brought some stuff, but you, you brought like, everything. Every cable, every power board, every plug. Although, except for a good HDMI cable. [00:17:54] Speaker A: Well, I had a good HDMI cable. It was a short HDMI cable. But luckily Matt Palmer from Alpine Light came to the rescue and got us a proper length HDMI lid. Plus you. You got me one of the calendars. [00:18:11] Speaker B: I did. [00:18:12] Speaker A: Thank you. [00:18:13] Speaker B: There's a little gift. Thank you for driving and gift. [00:18:15] Speaker A: So I'll be able to hang that up if anyone needs a. Probably the. The most beautiful calendar you could possibly buy. [00:18:23] Speaker B: I got a couple for the. I got one for my mum and dad for Christmas because they always hang out. Did you calendar in the loo? [00:18:28] Speaker A: I assume you can buy these on their website and just hassle them, but I'm sure they're on their website. You can now. [00:18:37] Speaker B: It features a mix of their images, you know, and it's all about the alpine area. So, you know, if you're a fan of bright, this is what you need to pick up. [00:18:46] Speaker A: And that's right. Images from both Matt and Mika. Yeah, yeah. It's a mix throughout there. Have they put out who's done which one? Yeah, they have. So I assume it's a bit of a competition. I'd love to be, you know, a fly on the wall while they're trying to figure out whose images goes in the cat in the calendar along which months. And they're like, yeah, I think mine's better. I think mine's better. [00:19:06] Speaker B: You got seven last year. [00:19:08] Speaker A: I'm sure they don't. I'm sure that's what Jim and I would do, though. It would be hilarious. Yeah. [00:19:15] Speaker B: Yeah, it would be. [00:19:18] Speaker A: Oh, cool. Look what else we got, Nick, 100. Is this your first time commenting, Nick? Evening, guys. Greg. I bought the black mousepad right at the end of the beef op. How cool. [00:19:28] Speaker B: Oh, cool. Did you get the one with the be stamping the gold stamp it for you. Oh, is it the special special one? [00:19:35] Speaker A: I think so. Okay. What was I doing? Comments? [00:19:39] Speaker B: Comments. [00:19:39] Speaker A: Boss Tim Siama says at least you can't be accused of not testing things if hits the fan. Loving the intro music. Yeah, we've been rocking this intro music for a while now. I think it's going to stick. I don't know, Russell Charters. The song was the funniest thing I've heard. Oh, this is on. So this is on the episode where we made the song about slipping your pants. [00:19:59] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:19:59] Speaker A: Which was quite good. [00:20:00] Speaker B: On the train. This wasn't it on the track. Was it on the train? It was on the train, yeah. Very specific. [00:20:05] Speaker A: This was the AI episode. If you guys want to catch up on. On Everything AI that we know about, mainly Sora too, which you'll start seeing all over your social media, if you haven't already. [00:20:16] Speaker B: My Instagram, it's just. It's become impossible. And some of the people that they're resurrecting through AI, it's quite disturbing. [00:20:25] Speaker A: It's. I don't. I'm not cool with that, really. Like, it's kind of. I mean, maybe. Maybe there's a limit. It's like if they're. If. If they've been gone for 100 years, it's like, all right, that's kind of funny or something. [00:20:39] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:20:40] Speaker A: You know what I mean? [00:20:41] Speaker B: Michael Jackson. [00:20:42] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:20:43] Speaker B: Robert Irwin. Stephen Hawking and. You mean Steve Irwin. Not Robert. Steve Irwin. Michael Jackson. The Queen. I've seen the Queen in. In quite a few. [00:20:55] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:20:56] Speaker B: And it's. It's like, weird. [00:20:58] Speaker A: Well, yeah, I mean, it depends on who it is and how famous they are and all that sort of stuff. And. And at some point it is just satire, but when it looks like them, but it's not what they said, you know, it's not like a clip of them from. From a bloody podcast. [00:21:11] Speaker B: It's, like, taken from your photo. [00:21:12] Speaker A: Fake. Yeah. And it's. Well, it's taken from. I guess taken from the Internet. Yeah, the Internet. Thousands and thousands of hours of. Of footage that it's somehow been trained on. And then it's like, you know, it's someone. I believe that the one that made the headlines was. And I didn't even know if this is real or not because I don't know what's real anymore. But there was posts circulating that Robin Williams daughter was like, can we please stop this? I don't really want to see my dad. [00:21:41] Speaker B: Because people kept tagging her. [00:21:43] Speaker A: Yeah. A horrible version of fake version of my dad that doesn't even really look like him. But it's. Yeah, close enough that it's weird saying he never said. [00:21:53] Speaker B: And the sad part about that was that when she protested, people called her out for being ungrateful. That, you know, that people are doing that. Like, people were claiming that, you know, you should be happy. You get to see. You get to continue to see your father in new scenarios that you never saw before. And it's like, no, man, just back off. [00:22:11] Speaker A: Like, it's not cool at all because it's not them. It's. It's someone's, like, meme version of them. Anyway, we're fully derailed if you want. Anyway, sorry, catch up if you don't. If you didn't See that episode? You want to catch up on what's happening with that? Go to episode 122, Sora to the Destroyer. You'll see the AI versions of Greg and I on the thumbnail for that show. Anyway, at donrogan2812 13 days ago on the Fujifilm GFX100RF review. [00:22:45] Speaker B: That's a classic. [00:22:46] Speaker A: Discover just discovered this pod. Great stuff. Oh, I'm gonna heart that. Thank you, Don Rogan. Hopefully you join us on one of the shows live at Rick Nelson, the one and only. This is on our test. That obviously looked like it was filmed on a potato. Because of the Internet. This canon footage worries me. Should have used a Fuji. [00:23:09] Speaker B: That's all right. That's right. [00:23:10] Speaker A: I'm gonna. I'm gonna dislike that. No, I'm just. No, no, I wouldn't do that. Oh, Here we go. Nick 100. What's the email for photos again, please. It's [email protected]. just send them on through. [00:23:28] Speaker B: Ideally, preferably with your EXIF data. [00:23:30] Speaker A: Yeah, ideally with metadata if you can. But we'll take whatever and don't wait too long because otherwise I won't be able to get it organized. Oh, Philip McCallum. I missed out on a ticket. Maybe next year, beef up tickets. I believe there's like 10 left. If anyone didn't get a ticket this year and wants to go next year or something. It's literally almost sold out. Let me just check. I'm going to refresh the page. Hopefully everyone that's watching this that wants to go is already. Now there's nine left. There's nine left. [00:24:04] Speaker B: Nine. Yeah. [00:24:06] Speaker A: Here we go. Brandon. Nine left. Insane. [00:24:09] Speaker B: Just seven days after it finished. It's gone. [00:24:13] Speaker A: Lucinda. Ah, shit. Do I need to get on it? I mean, are you. I feel like. [00:24:18] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:19] Speaker A: I don't know. It could be a special guest of some sort. Yeah. Nine left is crazy. [00:24:25] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, by the time we left, they'd sold 300, I think. [00:24:28] Speaker A: Yeah, something like that. [00:24:29] Speaker B: Because I announced it to the. They announce it first to the people. [00:24:32] Speaker A: That are actually there, the participants in person. Participants. [00:24:35] Speaker B: Participants. Yeah. [00:24:36] Speaker A: Yeah. It is crazy, so. [00:24:39] Speaker B: It is crazy. [00:24:40] Speaker A: Yeah. If you're listening to this later, jump on and see. You can come sell lucky straps. [00:24:47] Speaker B: We're going to have the biggest team this year. [00:24:49] Speaker A: I mean, we're trying. We're going to try and grow the team, but the problem is Jim's got a bloody wedding on the Friday. [00:24:54] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:55] Speaker A: These wedding photographers, they're booked out to too far in advance, but, yeah, insane that they've sold all but nine tickets. So get on it right now if you want to go next year. [00:25:06] Speaker B: It's because next year is their 10th anniversary. It is going to be big. [00:25:10] Speaker A: I. I guarantee they'll do something silly. They'll spend every. Every single dollar they possibly can. They'll spend on making it just insane. [00:25:18] Speaker B: Yeah. And it was already like this. She was insane. This year was insane. We'll get to that later tonight. [00:25:25] Speaker A: 9Th 11th October 2026. Go to beef upaustralia.com and find the tickets for 2026. And you will see there's almost none left. [00:25:34] Speaker B: Yep. [00:25:35] Speaker A: Lucinda wants to recap first. I feel like you've got to. We've got to petition you for a instructor of some sort. [00:25:43] Speaker B: I feel like. Yeah, I feel like you've got something to offer there. Yeah, certainly. [00:25:49] Speaker A: Okay. What other comments we got here? Matt Palmer, thanks for letting us know about that primo stall spot. Yeah, we were right. Literally right inside the front door. [00:26:01] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:26:01] Speaker A: We got craziness. We got the best spot in the house. [00:26:04] Speaker B: Crazy. [00:26:05] Speaker A: At the drunk wedding photographer. Was this recorded on a Game Boy? Color probably look like that. God, it must have been bad at Wookiee75. Definitely up there with one of the best interviews. This is on the Michael Coyne episode. It's been going really well. Getting tons of views, lots of listens on audio. That was an absolutely wonderful interview. [00:26:29] Speaker B: So. [00:26:29] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:26:30] Speaker B: And I just. And I keep remembering parts of it like he. He declared that his parents were both spies in the UK because it was during the Cold War. [00:26:38] Speaker A: But he claims he is not. [00:26:40] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:26:41] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:26:42] Speaker B: But he was. But he also said that he'd been accused of being a spy. That's a different. Yeah. Because he was just. [00:26:49] Speaker A: Spies would never say they're spies. [00:26:52] Speaker B: No, it would make sense. [00:26:54] Speaker A: That's what I'm saying. And I got the book. [00:26:58] Speaker B: You did. [00:26:59] Speaker A: Yeah, Got the book. [00:27:00] Speaker B: Nice. [00:27:02] Speaker A: So good. Lisa Leach, she says good morning. That was nine days ago. That's. And so did Ian Thompson. That was also nine days ago. [00:27:09] Speaker B: Good morning for them. [00:27:10] Speaker A: Good morning for nine days ago. The Gas Nine. What was the intro tune? Wicked. That is our terrible AI song. [00:27:19] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:27:19] Speaker A: We're keeping it. Matthew Garberg. Shocked to hear that my tasing was talked about the morning after. Yet another good podcast. Yeah. Your tasting was. It was. Was funny because of how much the boys reacted like they were. They were getting shocked into another stratosphere. And then you just held onto it. [00:27:39] Speaker B: And just like you stood there like a mountain and you just took it and your body was jolting like every five seconds. It was the funniest thing. Oh, it was so funny. And you just had this, this eating grin on your face. Matt. It was. Yeah, it was amazing night. [00:27:56] Speaker A: Very funny. This comments from an old one. How to use Canon's new hot shoe cover properly. [00:28:02] Speaker B: Oh, wow. [00:28:03] Speaker A: Another one. Appreciate this video. Just got the camera, didn't want to break it. Trying to take it off, but it didn't come off first try. Let's try again. Knowing it come off fully. I was second guessing then thinking they didn't put a shoe on the camera. I mean it is tough to get it off that first time if you don't know what you're doing. And that's it. All right, we got through the comments. [00:28:25] Speaker B: Well done. Yeah, well played. [00:28:29] Speaker A: Now we should get to some news. [00:28:30] Speaker B: Let's get to some news. Hit the jingle. Do the thing. There it is. [00:28:36] Speaker A: What do you got for there it is? [00:28:37] Speaker B: There's lots going on. It's been a busy couple of weeks. More lenses, couple of camera rumors, a couple of confirmed releases coming up. Let's talk about Fujifilm first. $25. Thank you. Yeah, so a couple of little bits and pieces. We won't, we don't need to bring up any of these, boss. We'll just read through them quickly. But I wasn't. Of course you weren't. Surprised you didn't delete them from the, from the roster. Times magazine has named the Fujifilm Instax Wide Evo, one of the best inventions of 2025. Instax is still running really strong. And our good friend Lucinda, Lucinda's a Polaroid girl, not an Instax girl, but she loves her, her instant cameras. And she's got a couple say that, yeah, they're huge. Like they just, they just keep selling. It's crazy. There's also the Fujifilm Instax. There's a new mini Li Play plus with SoundPrint and a new soft glitter film. So the soundprint, basically what you can do is you can take a shot with your, with the little Instax camera. It's a hybrid digital analog. You can then record a sound and when you print the, the slide out of the Instax camera, it will have a QR code and then anyone that has that photo can scan the QR code and hear the sound bite that goes with it. So you could do music, you could put a little comment and you can. It sort of gets attached to the file, so to speak. Apparently the kids love it. Yeah, does it. Did that make sense? What I said it did. [00:30:12] Speaker A: I wasn't sure until you said that you could record whatever and then. Then that makes more sense. [00:30:17] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:30:18] Speaker A: So, yeah. [00:30:22] Speaker B: It'Ll be fun. I mean, it'd be good for tagging images and saying, you know, like, if you're taking, if you're taking, you know, you're taking shots while you're on holiday, you can say, oh, this is. This is, you know, Italy. This is Rome. This is because you might forget where you were. I don't know what I'm saying anymore. Let's move on. [00:30:40] Speaker A: TT Artisan I'm not convinced, but I mean, it doesn't. It's like you don't have to use it. It's there if you want to use it. [00:30:48] Speaker B: No, it's just an option. It's just a giving. [00:30:49] Speaker A: It's just a thing. I mean. Yeah, I mean, I guess it could be cool. You could leave a little nice little note for someone you know, you kind of like. Yeah, it's like a little secret note postcard. [00:31:01] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. [00:31:02] Speaker A: I don't know. I'll have to think about that one. It's interesting. [00:31:04] Speaker B: I think we should. I think we should test it. But with the sound bite, put our new intro music. It's like a business card. [00:31:11] Speaker A: Maybe if we could hack their system so that everyone's in. Every photo just has the QR code to our AI camera. [00:31:22] Speaker B: TT Artisans have announced a 17 mil f4 tilt shift lens for GFX. So that should be interesting. [00:31:29] Speaker A: You know what I saw on Facebook, Marketplace, you know, the original DFX100. The, the probe size body. It's like the big body, the big square one. Full spectrum infrared converted. [00:31:42] Speaker B: How much? [00:31:43] Speaker A: Five grand. I have to buy lenses. And I was like, oh, no, you. [00:31:49] Speaker B: Just go to Greg Carrick's, you'll 3D print you some. Yeah. [00:31:52] Speaker A: You put an old, old projector lens on it. Yeah. [00:31:56] Speaker B: It doesn't work, won't focus. There's no aperture. [00:31:59] Speaker A: It caught my eye, but then the, the practicality of me going, hang on a minute, just, just, you just get a Canon converted. Use the Canon lenses that you've got. That way if you want to travel, you're not bringing a second kit so you can shoot some infrared or whatever. Yeah. But I was very, for a second there, I was like, because. [00:32:22] Speaker B: You still, you're still not sure, are you? I can see. [00:32:25] Speaker A: I mean, you can see that little. [00:32:26] Speaker B: Gleam in your eye. [00:32:27] Speaker A: It would be amazing image quality. And that body was so cool to hold that pro body but it's pretty big. [00:32:34] Speaker B: Did it come with the evf? The detachable? Was it. Yeah, because. [00:32:38] Speaker A: Pretty sure the standard was standard with those EVFs. I think it had an extra optional EVF that was even more like a tilted one. [00:32:45] Speaker B: Yeah, that's right. [00:32:45] Speaker A: I don't think it had that. Yeah, I was pretty tempted. [00:32:50] Speaker B: I bet. But you're right, it's not practical for you. [00:32:54] Speaker A: No, especially with like. Yeah, I could get a late model like a new Canon body on a deal or something like that when they're running out and I'll. And just get it converted and I. [00:33:05] Speaker B: Mean if it came with a wide prime that you could use for landscape or that like that might sweeten it a bit. But without a lens it's a. It's a. You know. That's another significant investment. [00:33:16] Speaker A: That's right. Yeah, it was. It was not practical. But I was. But I mean 100. [00:33:26] Speaker B: What do you guys think in the chat? Should Justin buy this camera or not? I think he should. What's he got to lose? See, I'm good at spending your money. Just give me your credit card number. I'll take care of it all. What else? Sui Aurora. 35 mil F14. I think this has been announced for all formats except Canon. I'm pretty sure it's this lens. And the other bit of news is that Fujifilm have just dropped today. Well, at least this is when I saw it today. A teaser for an upcoming camera, body and lens launch. The camera looks like. It looks like an xt. It's got that sort of classic on Fujifilm Australia's. Fujifilm X. AU's on their socials. [00:34:12] Speaker A: Yeah, they do teasers on socials. [00:34:14] Speaker B: Me too. [00:34:16] Speaker A: Shouldn't your website be the hub of all things? And then it filters out vices. Am I just old? [00:34:22] Speaker B: Because often what's happening on the socials hasn't been updated on the website yet. [00:34:26] Speaker A: That's what I mean. [00:34:27] Speaker B: Especially in Australia. [00:34:28] Speaker A: Yeah. Which is crazy to me. Like it should be. Shouldn't it be first first in the core and then it filters out to all the tentacles. Am I just a traditionalist when it comes? I think you might be promoting people's products anyway. Fujifilm Australia. Let's have a look at this teaser and figure out. Do you have a guess as to what camera it is? [00:34:51] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:34:53] Speaker A: Yeah. How confident are you with your guess? [00:34:59] Speaker B: Probably 80%. [00:35:01] Speaker A: Okay. [00:35:03] Speaker B: Only because there's been other rumors about what's being. What's being discontinued and what needs to be updated. The one with the film dial see the film sim dial. It's that one. Huh. Go to that vertical. [00:35:18] Speaker A: Oh, hang on. And a lens is coming. [00:35:20] Speaker B: Yep. [00:35:22] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:35:24] Speaker B: So it's got that XT flagship kind of form, but it could also be the. Given that it's got a film sim dial on the top, it's more than likely a Fujifilm XT30. There's rumors that there's been a Mark III in production, which doesn't make sense to me. Like, let's just jump to the XT40. Like there's that gap because they went from XT30 to XT30 Mark II, they skipped XT40 and then they went to XT50 and it. They just threw it all out of whack. So they're either going to plug that gap or it's. Yeah, it's an XT30 Mark III because it is a very popular camera. [00:36:00] Speaker A: Let's see, let's see what the comments are saying. All right. [00:36:05] Speaker B: But as for the lens, I think it's a. It's going to be a wide with a short range power zoom. [00:36:13] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, yeah. Like a kit lens. [00:36:16] Speaker B: Get powers. They had the 15 to 45 and it was okay, but it was sloppy. [00:36:22] Speaker A: I like this one. Still no X Pro 4. Crying face. What else we got? Guessing XT33. A new kit lens. Yeah. XT33. It doesn't even sound good. And everyone's on three at the moment. There's the bloody. The Nikon Z63. The Canon R63 is coming out. The. [00:36:44] Speaker B: I don't know what the. [00:36:45] Speaker A: Who else is on three? [00:36:50] Speaker B: I don't know. [00:36:51] Speaker A: Everyone's on three. [00:36:52] Speaker B: Everyone's on three. Who's on first? [00:36:55] Speaker A: Nick on. [00:36:56] Speaker B: No, who's on second? Have you heard that, that comedy skit? Who's on first? It's like a really old comedy skit. Some of the oldies in the chat, like Liz Okie. He'd know what it is. Good to see you, Liz. [00:37:11] Speaker A: So when it comes to. So Scott Longdon. Nah, I converted an old 6D to infrared a few years ago for a couple hundred bucks and it's been brilliant. Okay, so you recognize. I'll stick with it. Yeah. Something old I'm gonna do though. No, I want to do mirrorless because I want to stick with my mirrorless lenses. So it has to be a reasonable light model camera. I could go the EOS R, which is a nice camera, but I don't love the ergonomics of it. It's very different to my R5 mark 2 and R3. So I'm thinking either an R6 mark 2 if there's like a run out deal. Yeah. Or the R6 Mark III might be tempting enough because I'm going to do a full spectrum conversion so I can actually use it as a non infrared camera too with a filter in it. That's where I'm at. Okay. [00:38:01] Speaker B: Okay. [00:38:03] Speaker A: Now where were we going? So that's what you reckon? XT30 Mark III in three days. [00:38:08] Speaker B: Yeah, it's very unlikely to be the XT40. It just doesn't make sense for them to drop that now because they're released like they've done the XT5, XT50, XE5, XM5. Why would they go backwards? You know it just. They've painted themselves into a corner. It was Abbott and Costello. Thank you, Liz. [00:38:29] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. The chat's all over it. Abbott and Costello. [00:38:35] Speaker B: Google it later. [00:38:36] Speaker A: I don't know. It's on third base. Scott Longdon says if you're doing mirrorless for infrared, do your research on what lenses will work. Lots don't. Yeah. I've been, I've been reading a lot on Kalari Vision which is a US company that does conversions and then I always forget the name of the company in Melbourne that do it because they've changed names. Not camera Clinic or. They haven't. I can't remember. It'll come back to me. But yeah, I'll talk to them in detail. I actually want to get the guy on the show, get him to tell us everything about converting cameras and then obviously I've always got the Oracle. David Leporardi. That's true. Tap for infrared info. [00:39:19] Speaker B: You've got to basically got a direct line to God. [00:39:22] Speaker A: That's right. [00:39:26] Speaker B: So there. That's the Fuji news. So we move on to the next brand. [00:39:30] Speaker A: There's more, there's more. [00:39:32] Speaker B: Imaging by design. This indices. Oh, that's them. [00:39:36] Speaker A: Imaging by design. I don't know why I always forget the name but it's. Yeah. Imaging by design. Okay. And they're the guys that converted yours. Yeah. Awesome. They seem very. Like they were just all over it when I chat to. Yeah. Very confident that they would do a great job on any camera. So. [00:39:52] Speaker B: Cool. Why don't you do your R3? You don't use that very much. [00:39:57] Speaker A: I use that a lot. [00:39:58] Speaker B: Do you? [00:39:59] Speaker A: For, for paper. [00:40:01] Speaker B: Oh you just bang on about your R5 Mark II all the time. I just figured that the R3 was a lonely loser sitting in the bottom of the bag. [00:40:07] Speaker A: No, because the R5 Mark II is the thing That I shoot if I. Or If I travel. R3 is heavier. It's. It's the workhorse and it is a killer. [00:40:17] Speaker B: Yeah, true. [00:40:17] Speaker A: So although on this shoot that Jim and I are on, which we won't recap this week, we'll try and recap it next week because it was pretty crazy. It was a adventure motorbike shoot. Two days of flat out shooting and editing and yeah, I actually ended up using. I think I shot more frames on the R5 Mark II. I'd have to check. But it. Yeah, I was using it a lot because I was running around a really light lens on it, one body and I was just getting right up in people's grills. It was very fun. Fun way to shoot sports as opposed to standing back with the telephoto lens. [00:40:53] Speaker B: Yeah. Yep. All right. [00:40:56] Speaker A: Okay. [00:40:56] Speaker B: Should we talk about Sony? [00:40:57] Speaker A: Sure. [00:40:59] Speaker B: A couple of quick bits. There's a new Yong. Yongnuo. I'm sorry, I'm butchering that. Pronouncement. 80 millimeter f 2.8 Fe autofocus lens will be announced in two days apparently for only 110 US dollars. That seems ludicrously cheap. I mean granted it's like two and a half Australian. Two and a half thousand Australian dollars. [00:41:20] Speaker A: But yeah, it'll be. It'll be less than 200 bucks Australian probably. [00:41:25] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:41:25] Speaker A: Pretty crazy. [00:41:29] Speaker B: What else we got? We've got. Sony have patented or someone's looked at one of their patents, eye controlled autofocus. They've been looking into that. Which you know, Canon have been doing for. Well, they've really. They brought it out in your R5 2 or in the R. Yeah. [00:41:43] Speaker A: But they've had it for decades. [00:41:45] Speaker B: Yeah, it was because it was a big deal like a couple years, 20 years ago. [00:41:49] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. But then they re resurged it in the R3. [00:41:54] Speaker B: That's right. [00:41:55] Speaker A: And then R5 mark 2. R5. Was it in the R5? I don't even remember. I never used it in the R5 if they didn't have it. [00:42:06] Speaker B: Well, that's because you've got shifty daddy eyes. [00:42:08] Speaker A: And then R1, it actually works really good with my eyes. I don't know what a lot of people say, they have tons of trouble with it, but I never had any problems with it even on the R3. But apparently the R1 is, is way better. [00:42:21] Speaker B: R5. 2. [00:42:22] Speaker A: That's right. Yeah. So. So it come in on the R3 and then went to the R5 Mark II and then. [00:42:32] Speaker B: The R1. [00:42:33] Speaker A: The R1 is the pinnacle of the tracking. Yeah, but some people still say it just doesn't work for them. [00:42:40] Speaker B: Yep. In other Sony news, couple of other lenses, Both Viltrox, a 50 mil f1.4 pro FE lens and also an 85 f2 autofocus FE lens which is already available for order. So yeah, some third party drops there and I think some of those are also for other mounts but you have to check that on like B and H or your local retailer. What else we got? [00:43:08] Speaker A: Lumix. [00:43:09] Speaker B: Lumix. So Lumix, there was a teaser and a rumor that's been circulating on those rumor sites for Lumix are cooking up something and they had all of these speculations as to what it would be and what they ended up releasing, which is actually a nice looking camera and it's something I'd never looked at before. It's the S9, the full frame S9. They release it in a titanium gold and I gotta say it caught my eye. I haven't really looked into like I, you know, I've reviewed a couple of Lumixes, mostly bigger bodies, but I've never really looked into this. This, this would be a great little travel slash street camera. [00:43:46] Speaker A: It looks nice. [00:43:47] Speaker B: That does look nice. So, but these titanium ones, I think it's a limited, it's only like 300 or something that they've made. [00:43:55] Speaker A: Okay, so no one will be able to get one. [00:43:57] Speaker B: No, it'll go to you know, industry reps and you know, fan favorites, that sort of thing. Bloggers And Lumix have also updated their couple of their apps with, with new color sims and color profiles and stuff. There's one cat, there's one Canon thing, but we should probably just skip it. It's probably not worth covering the mark. The EOS R6 Mark III which you just mentioned a moment ago, apparently there's some additional specifications have been leaked, but again, grain of salt, I think it's a 34.2, 32 megapixel sensor, the same. [00:44:40] Speaker A: As the EOS C50, which makes a ton of sense. They've released it. Well, it already exists, so. So for these reasons, the A7, what are they up to? 5 is about to drop. But the A7 4 was also like in that megapixel range. Was it 33 or something? Yeah, the A7 5 is about to drop and everyone's saying that it'll be in that megapixel range. I think if Canon want to compete in that, that new middle of the road, what would you call that camera range? Like it's kind of becoming that $4,000 pro ish body. It's enthusiast level, the workhorse body. It's. Yeah, it's almost a step above enthusiast but it's like it depends on the application. It is most certainly a pro workhorse body if you don't need top end sports speed or high megapixel pro Schumer. Yeah, I don't know, I don't know what to call it but it's, it's an extremely popular category for both video and photo. Probably the most popular hybrid sort of range. So it makes total sense that they're like, hey, we, we made this sweet sensor for the C50 for video. [00:46:01] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:46:02] Speaker A: Assuming it can take good stills, which I'm sure it can. Yeah, that. Why not just put it in the same body? It will not have the video specs that the C50 has. [00:46:13] Speaker B: But it makes financial sense to the company, doesn't it? To a brand to go. We've developed a brand new sensor, we need to start putting it in bodies to get our money back. [00:46:21] Speaker A: They'll be able to use exact same video pipeline that they've used on the C50, but they just won't put as many of the high level codex and stuff like that in it. And it'll be more limited because it'll probably overheat faster because it doesn't have as as much cooling available to it because it'll be weather sealed and that sort of thing. So all of that makes total sense to me. Ibis six and a half stops. Apparently that's lower than what the other ones were. Hopefully the IBIS isn't as wobbly as Canon's IBIS has been with wide angle lenses for video, no issue for photo. Yeah, but they're saying it'll have pre capture, 40 frames a second, electronic shutter, high ISO 64,000 remain to be seen. Is that high ISO of this higher res lens as good as the high ISO of the R6 Mark II which had great high ISO at 24 megapixel. So that could be an issue. Some people might be like, you've gone up in in res but I've lost a little bit of my low light. Yeah, yeah. Yep. Matthew hates the video IBIS wobble. We all do. Yep. So I don't know. I think with those specs. Okay, so the unconfirmed specs that have come out. [00:47:40] Speaker B: Not unconfirmed, unconfirmed. It's a new category. [00:47:45] Speaker A: That's funny. [00:47:46] Speaker B: These guys who write these rumor sites, they get so excited about their Canon News. And they just. [00:47:50] Speaker A: They just punch it out and then it don't even time for chat. GPT to quickly spell check it. [00:47:54] Speaker B: No. [00:47:57] Speaker A: At least it's not written by AI. So. [00:47:59] Speaker B: Yes. Well, we don't know. [00:48:00] Speaker A: I've heard conflicting reports. It's saying dual UHS. Two SD card slots. I've heard a report from a YouTuber who also has similarly. No, no confirmation unfirmed that it will be a CF Express and SD card slot. [00:48:19] Speaker B: Dual in one or two slots. [00:48:21] Speaker A: Two slots. Like my R5 Mark II. Which makes total sense. The R3's got that as well. Video needs a ton of speed. And even if you're going to have recording limits, you just need that speed. And the cards are cheaper for fast, high gigabyte cards, high capacity. So I hope they do that. I hope it's not dual SD. Dual SD sucks. SDs suck. They're old. Whatever these are, these are just. They're so much more durable. They're faster, they're cheaper. Who wouldn't want a CF Express? [00:48:58] Speaker B: I'll tell you what, let's both. I'll swallow an SD card. You swallow that and we'll see which one comes out better in the end. [00:49:07] Speaker A: I think this one, this one will hurt more, but it will be. It'll still work. [00:49:11] Speaker B: Oh, you'll know it's coming through. [00:49:13] Speaker A: Yeah, you will. I don't want to play that game. How about we run over both of them with my van? [00:49:20] Speaker B: Yeah, okay. We'll do that one day. [00:49:21] Speaker A: Okay. [00:49:22] Speaker B: But we'll use one of Jim's cards. [00:49:26] Speaker A: Sounds like a watered down R5 Mark II to be honest. What? So why. Why is it a watered down R5 mark 2? It's just slightly less. It's less resolution. It's a whole different sensor size. But yeah, ideally, hopefully it is just a watered down R5 Mark II. That's better than it being like a. A whole lower category of camera. Yeah, it's like you just want slightly lower resolution, little bit less tech. Maybe you don't have the top screen usually on it. They ditch the top screen. That reduces some cost obviously for them. Similar layout of control. So you can run them side by side without feeling like you're jumping between two completely different cameras. And you drop a couple of grand off the price, which is what everyone wants. [00:50:09] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:50:10] Speaker A: Unfortunately they're saying we won't get a new LCD tilty flippy mechanism, which sucks because the current one is shit. [00:50:18] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:50:20] Speaker A: And that's it. [00:50:22] Speaker B: There you go. [00:50:23] Speaker A: Yeah. All right. Oh, says C log 3. But apparently we might get C log 2, which would be great. No one listening to this podcast cares about that. But I care. Matthew probably kids. [00:50:34] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm sure he does. Yep. Let's jump into the land of Nikon. Or Nikon. [00:50:42] Speaker A: We have to. [00:50:43] Speaker B: Just quickly. [00:50:44] Speaker A: Okay. [00:50:45] Speaker B: They dropped two new lenses the other day. APSA lenses. But still, they still two lenses. Well, I mean, they're mostly made of plastic, so they probably bounced, but they've released a 16 to 52.8 and a 3517 for their DX range. [00:51:03] Speaker A: Okay, cool. [00:51:06] Speaker B: Yeah. So anyone out there shooting APS C, Nikon? There's a couple more lens choices. And so what's the crop factor on the DX series versus the full frame? Is it a 1.6 crop? [00:51:22] Speaker A: Nikon's 1.5, I think. [00:51:24] Speaker B: Okay. [00:51:25] Speaker A: I always get them confused. Canon Nikona 1's 1.6. 1 1's 1.5. [00:51:32] Speaker B: But nice. [00:51:33] Speaker A: No one shoots with crops anyway. No, I'm kidding. [00:51:37] Speaker B: A couple of other quick little nick on bits. New versions of NX Studio and Wireless Transmitter Utility released. And Viltrox have announced an auto autofocus 50 mil 14 pro lens. I think I've already said that in the Sony section. Yeah, I did. [00:51:53] Speaker A: It may come in multiple mounts. [00:51:54] Speaker B: He said, yeah, well, I did, didn't I? And so I just proved myself right. I did say that. A couple of crazy bits from Leica that I. I do want to go have a look at one of them. But The Leica M EV1 camera announcement will be in the next three days, according to the rumor sites. [00:52:15] Speaker A: Well, I. I was being a Leica owner. I was a carrier pigeon. Flew onto my doorstep and pecked at the door like this. And I opened the door and it said, hello, sir, you're cordially invited to a camera release event at Leica Store Melbourne on Friday the 24th. [00:52:43] Speaker B: You were not. Yeah. And what did I. [00:52:48] Speaker A: No. When did you do this? I kicked it. I said, get off my porch, stupid. Yeah. And then I registered to this free queen because I was like, maybe I'll come. And now I've decided I probably won't go because I don't think it's a camera that interests me in any way. I was. And I'm all traveled out fair, so I'm not gonna go. But I did. I tossed it up if it was a more interesting potential release. But, yeah, we believe it's this MEV1 or something camera. So basically an EV version, electronic viewfinder version of the M11. Yep, that's the speculation I also thought it might just be the Q3 monochrome. I think it could. Or is that out already? So Q3 monochrome out. [00:53:36] Speaker B: I think they've announced it. I don't think it's out yet. [00:53:43] Speaker A: Anyway, I don't think it's a groundbreaking new cat. It's not like it's the M12 or something. Otherwise I'd probably go down if I was going to be like a completely new camera, just to see. I thought it would also be interesting to see what they do at one of these events, but then I'd probably have to get a tuxedo. [00:53:58] Speaker B: And they're gonna be fancy. No, you'd have to shop in RM Williams, at least. [00:54:03] Speaker A: You reckon? [00:54:04] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Pr. It'll be an RM Williams event. You know, a bit like the farmer. The farmer wants a wife. Kind of dress code, but a little upper class. [00:54:13] Speaker A: I've never watched that show. [00:54:15] Speaker B: No, me neither. But I'm sure they all wear RM Williams. What else? There's a. Oh, yeah. Let's jump on the next Leica one. This one's really weird. Like, I. I first saw this and I thought it was just a joke, but it's actually real. So Leica of commission for the limited edition Leica M11 monochrome camera. They've made marble sculptures on it of it. And you can purchase them. They're for different Leica stores made by this artist, Casper Brat. And you can actually buy a marble version of a Leica for €50,000. [00:54:56] Speaker A: What. [00:54:57] Speaker B: What does that work out to? Yeah, I'm serious, man. Like €50,000 in Australian dollars. [00:55:04] Speaker A: That is. [00:55:06] Speaker B: That's 90,000 Australian. [00:55:09] Speaker A: Jim wants us to wave because he's watching while on silent while the plane's boarding. So who are we waving to? Are we waving to you, Jim? [00:55:19] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:55:19] Speaker A: Is this so, you know, I don't know what's happening. Hi, Jim. [00:55:23] Speaker B: Justin is considering it, Les. Yeah, he likes the marble. But look at these photos of it. [00:55:30] Speaker A: It's huge. Oh, is that full? Oh, I see. [00:55:33] Speaker B: Yeah, it's massive. [00:55:34] Speaker A: So what, they're thinking someone's going to put this near their koi pond or something? [00:55:39] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:55:40] Speaker A: You know, like a marble statue in the. In the grounds of the. [00:55:44] Speaker B: No, you know, like how you see. [00:55:45] Speaker A: Those and smoke the pipe and. [00:55:47] Speaker B: Yeah, but you know how you see those knobs that, you know that crane an F1 car up into their. Their penthouse apartment and they have it in their laundry because they're wankers. Well, that's what this is. This is for dentists. You'll see One of these in your dentist's office very soon, because they're the only people that could afford them technically. [00:56:06] Speaker A: I would imagine if you see this in your dentist's office, he's probably good at what he does. You know what I'm saying? He's overcharging now, I guess. [00:56:17] Speaker B: I don't trust dentists. I'm sorry. If anyone out there is a dentist, I just. I have. I have trauma. [00:56:23] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, yeah. Okay. So it is. It's large. The price makes more sense now. I thought it was the size of a camera. [00:56:32] Speaker B: No, from what I understand, yeah, it's just these. It's just these big. These big bloody things. [00:56:40] Speaker A: Tony says those cars are generally considered an investment. [00:56:45] Speaker B: I've. Tony's a car guy, isn't he? [00:56:47] Speaker A: He likes Tony. [00:56:48] Speaker B: Do you have one in your lounge room or. [00:56:51] Speaker A: I missed this comment from him earlier, but I'll have to read it out in Tony voice. Hang on. Hi. Greg Castles. [00:57:01] Speaker B: Hey, Tony. What's that about? [00:57:03] Speaker A: That's just his way. Maybe he's angry at me. I'm not sure. [00:57:07] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:57:10] Speaker A: Yes. That is a lot of Canon R5 Mark IIS. Exactly. [00:57:13] Speaker B: Yeah. It just feels a little vulgar to me, you know, like. Where are you going to put this. [00:57:22] Speaker A: In the koi pond? I don't know. Does it. Oh, does it come with a camera? [00:57:27] Speaker B: I think the Cameron. I don't know if it comes with a camera. I. I couldn't work it out. The one in the red box. Like, I've seen that on a couple of posts. It's weird. Anyway, so, yeah, if you want a sculpture, it's only $90,000 Australian dollars. That's the ultimate collector's piece bargain. Yeah. Yep. And that's it for Leica dgi. Just very quickly, some drone news. So DJI are taking the Pentagon back to court as you do. Although it is a fairly risky. [00:58:05] Speaker A: Is there any chance you can beat the Pentagon in court? [00:58:08] Speaker B: Like, especially not really, I don't think. I mean, they've changed their name from the Department of Defense to the Department of War. Why would you go poking the bear when they've just did that? [00:58:17] Speaker A: Really? [00:58:18] Speaker B: Yeah, They've changed it. So they pulled the signs off? Yes. You look it up, I guarantee it. Not now. [00:58:23] Speaker A: They even change the signs. [00:58:25] Speaker B: They took down the science Department of Defense and they made a Department of War. [00:58:29] Speaker A: They just, like, put a line through Defense and write war in red paint. Yeah, maybe. [00:58:34] Speaker B: Or blood. Blood. But yeah, DJI taking it back to court, saying that the ban of DJI drone products and you know, other DJI products in America is unlawful and. Yeah. So I, you know, I wish them luck. [00:58:51] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:58:52] Speaker B: Maybe a different administration, things would be a bit different for them. But I. I don't like their chances with this one. No, they're very anti China at the moment. So anyway. And finally, random. [00:59:04] Speaker A: More drones. [00:59:05] Speaker B: Random. Oh, this robot phone. Have you seen this robot phone? [00:59:10] Speaker A: I heard something about this. I haven't looked at it. So you're going to educate me. [00:59:14] Speaker B: Well, I don't know a lot about it, but basically this company's putting out a phone that looks like it's got a small, like on the top of your. What's that camera you have? [00:59:22] Speaker A: The DJI Pocket 3. Yeah. [00:59:24] Speaker B: It's like they've ripped that off and stuck it to the back to the top of a phone. The. The little video there, it actually tucks itself away. If you believe the animation that they've put out on it. It tucks itself away in the back of the camera and there's like a sliding panel that covers over it and. Yeah, it's basically. Yeah, and basically. See, it folds down. [00:59:44] Speaker A: No. All right, we're going to play this. [00:59:47] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:59:47] Speaker A: Is this going to work? Oh, can you hear that? [00:59:51] Speaker B: Yep. Maybe just silence the audio. So I didn't get it. Strike straight away. [01:00:00] Speaker A: Okay. So it's. Yep. It's a phone. It's okay. This is a thrilling video. Marketing team really blew the budget on this one. Amazing. Yep. Definitely told me nothing. This is. [01:00:17] Speaker B: Well, they're bringing the fight directly to Apple. [01:00:18] Speaker A: Exceptional. All right, get. Let's get to the bit. [01:00:21] Speaker B: Here we go. [01:00:21] Speaker A: The camera flips out. [01:00:23] Speaker B: Yeah. So that's. That's what it normally looks like, but. [01:00:27] Speaker A: Huh. [01:00:27] Speaker B: Wait for it. Wait for it. Hey. Who's a happy sailor? [01:00:32] Speaker A: Wow. [01:00:33] Speaker B: Up it pops. [01:00:34] Speaker A: I need to see you. I need to see that from the side because I don't believe that can fit in the hole that they show. [01:00:40] Speaker B: Yeah, I don't think so. [01:00:42] Speaker A: It doesn't. That doesn't make sense. [01:00:43] Speaker B: It feels like a grand hoax. Okay. [01:00:46] Speaker A: Oh, I see. Yeah. So it's for surveilling your surroundings. [01:00:50] Speaker B: Things. [01:00:53] Speaker A: Looking around, they've like. What's it called when you, like, humanize something? Anthropomorphized. [01:01:02] Speaker B: Yeah, Yeah, I think it is that. [01:01:04] Speaker A: You know how it's like tilting its head and like, it's like smiling at people as they walk by. Hey, how you doing? Yeah, yeah, I'm a phone. Let's see. Oh, it's nodding. [01:01:14] Speaker B: What is it doing? [01:01:14] Speaker A: It's having a good Time with it. Oh, hey, see the tilt, the head tilt, you know, they specifically not supposed to tilt. But look at the thing does is stay steady and it's tilt. It's like. [01:01:26] Speaker B: I know, but look at the thickness of the phone and the thickness of the gimbal. There is no way that tucks away like it. It just doesn't make sense. [01:01:34] Speaker A: Not in the bulge they had pictured. I'm going to put it out there now, clip this. That's going to be a big bulge. A very big bolt. Yeah. [01:01:43] Speaker B: Editor said you got it. [01:01:44] Speaker A: Look at it nodding. And the baby cried because it nodded at it. Oh, this is insane. It can't fit folding down. [01:01:55] Speaker B: Is it. Is it going backwards? [01:02:00] Speaker A: It played peekaboo with the baby. Did you see that? [01:02:03] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm sure that was an AI baby. [01:02:05] Speaker A: Watch. Who's it? Peekaboo. Oh, there it is. It's my camera. [01:02:13] Speaker B: Oh, no. [01:02:14] Speaker A: This is insane. [01:02:15] Speaker B: Look how thick that is. That is not fitting in. [01:02:17] Speaker A: That doesn't fit in there. Let me what it can do. Oh, it's watching this. I can do it. Doing star tracking. Yeah, it's gonna have the. It's got some dust on the center. Oh, no, there's stars. [01:02:30] Speaker B: Oh, look at it. It's a. It's just bizarre. It's like a Disney thing. [01:02:38] Speaker A: This. This has got to be a fake. Like, this is a joke, right? [01:02:43] Speaker B: Well, I don't know. It's not April Fool's. Hello. No, I think it's a real thing. I think they're doing it. Yeah, it is. It's real. [01:02:54] Speaker A: It's realistic. [01:02:55] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [01:02:58] Speaker A: Oh, that's a Good one, Liz. E.T. phone home. [01:03:02] Speaker B: Yeah. And see, look, it just folds away. [01:03:04] Speaker A: All right, we got to replay pops. [01:03:05] Speaker B: Away that little bit. [01:03:09] Speaker A: Where is it? [01:03:09] Speaker B: Let's. [01:03:10] Speaker A: Let's look at. [01:03:10] Speaker B: See if this is. Everyone shout highly. Pay attention. [01:03:17] Speaker A: I'm not believing that. I'm not believing that for a second. [01:03:21] Speaker B: Yep. So there you have it, folks, one more time. I mean, it could, but that back bulge is going to be much bigger than what they're showing, I think. Remember how Apple got into trouble for that? [01:03:34] Speaker A: It's like a Temu Pixar lamp. It is, yeah. Reminding me of the. The Pixar of Pixar. [01:03:42] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, the lamp that looks at you. Yeah, that's pretty cool. [01:03:46] Speaker A: Tony says they're doing their release at the Melbourne Comedy Club. Yeah, maybe. [01:03:51] Speaker B: Yeah, probably. [01:03:52] Speaker A: Maybe. There is a recess in the back of the camera which enables it to fit in the space. Yeah, like the black hole. It's I think it's. Yeah, there's definitely a recess back there and I see what they're doing. I just think. I think what they're showing on this. The phone looks way slimmer than it's going to need to be. [01:04:12] Speaker B: Yeah. And Apple got in trouble for doing that. Remember, they didn't include the bump for the lenses when they said how the camera. The phone was. [01:04:19] Speaker A: That's right. But even this, like this rendering. The bump. The bump is there, but it doesn't look big enough to fit that mechanism in. Unless they're. Because this screen is on the other side of it. You know, screens aren't. [01:04:31] Speaker B: Yeah, they take up space to take up space. But also the fact it's got the little slidy door that just looks far too minimal. Like it's going to be clunkier. I'm sure. Anyway, we'll see what happens. We'll keep you up to date. But you have. [01:04:46] Speaker A: I will not. It's the picture for the new. It can be the new podcast phone. Be the calling phone, which no one's using. And I don't even know if it's on, so it's probably not. I didn't even have my phone. Where is my phone? [01:04:58] Speaker B: Why no one's using it? [01:04:59] Speaker A: Why is no one calling me? I've got the number up there. 048-551-2370. Just in case you want it. We should get to your. Your BFOP thingies. [01:05:12] Speaker B: Hang on, I just got a cough. [01:05:15] Speaker A: Justin, you're creating future realities. Maybe. Thanks, Rodney. Lisa Leach. Are they advocating the phone can child Mine too. That kind of seems what it is saying like, hey, this phone can just. If you're busy, you're a busy like tech person or whatever. Buy this phone and just sit it near your child and you won't even have to play peekaboo with your own child. Craig Murphy. Or have no battery life. Is all the electronics and battery are below the camera cave thing. That's right. And the. They're also controlling that gimbal, which is just another thing to drain some power out. [01:05:50] Speaker B: It would drain it very quick because that looked like it had these two axes. [01:05:56] Speaker A: Yeah, it's. It's madness. [01:05:58] Speaker B: Yeah. I. I half expected in that video to see little legs pop out and it follows you around like a spider. [01:06:03] Speaker A: Well, at least then by. Towards the end of the video we'd know it was a gag and we'd be like, oh, that's pretty funny. They got us like for a second there we weren't sure and now we Definitely know it's a joke. [01:06:12] Speaker B: Yep. So that's the news. [01:06:16] Speaker A: That's the news. [01:06:17] Speaker B: Go play the jingle. [01:06:20] Speaker A: Oh, to go to. Hang on. Let me just get to the thing. And then this and then that and then. [01:06:30] Speaker B: Like clockwork. [01:06:31] Speaker A: Now it's time to have a good hard look at Greg's fob. [01:06:36] Speaker B: Yep. Hang on. [01:06:38] Speaker A: Yeah. Whip it out. [01:06:39] Speaker B: Yeah. Should we go to Facebook? You want it? You want to drive? [01:06:43] Speaker A: Yeah. We might start with those because. And then we'll have a look at the rest of them. But even though I hate looking at photos on Facebook, I really liked that first set. [01:06:51] Speaker B: Liz, Okie is my new best friend because he loves Fujifilm. [01:06:55] Speaker A: Nothing more from Fuji. [01:06:58] Speaker B: We could talk about the next hour if you want. [01:07:00] Speaker A: I'm sure Greg scoured the Internet for every possible Fujifilm thing that he could find. You make me. Gosh, here we go. Bring these up. It's just not a good format. But anyway, we'll start with that. Anyway, this is a. This is a quick recap of BEFOP through the eyes of Greg. BEFOP being the bright festival of photography. I'm sure you're all aware now because we just did like four podcasts about it in a row and I. I. [01:07:31] Speaker B: Shot it with my Fujifilm New Fujifilm XE5. Most of the shots are with this 27, 28 pancake. Actually, to Matt, he's a. He's a cannon boy. But I, I gave it to him and I said, here, work it out. Go take some photos. And he walked off and at BFOP and came back just staring at it in all going, I kind of want one now. And I said to Justin, three minutes, that's all it took for him to want one. [01:07:55] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:07:55] Speaker B: Three minutes he was gone. [01:07:57] Speaker A: It is definitely a camera I could see myself with, particularly for travel. [01:08:02] Speaker B: I love it. [01:08:02] Speaker A: I think I would have to test the autofocus and see if it's as bad as everyone says it is what everyone said. I mean, who's everyone? [01:08:13] Speaker B: You and Jim. [01:08:14] Speaker A: Anyway, anyone that's used other cameras, all the Fuji people like, it's great. [01:08:20] Speaker B: See, I've always got a cheeky little Fuji mentioned somewhere. Liz. [01:08:23] Speaker A: I think. I think it would be definitely fast enough for my travel stuff, that's for sure. Everyone else seems to make great work with it, so that wouldn't be a problem. [01:08:30] Speaker B: Well, it's the first Fuji camera that I've shot with, that I've owned where I actually felt confident shooting in dark. [01:08:37] Speaker A: Yeah, because you were shooting it in some dark conditions at B. That's for sure. All right. This is your last chance though, Matthew, because otherwise I won't have time to. To put these into any folders. So don't send many photos through. If you're sending them through, email is justinuckystraps.com.au.au, please and thank you. I'll keep an eye on it. All right, so let's just bring this up first. So this is just from Facebook, so sorry for it. Just looking terrible. [01:09:06] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:09:07] Speaker A: But these images Greg posted and I was loving them. Make this a little bigger. [01:09:13] Speaker B: Thanks, mate. [01:09:14] Speaker A: You're welcome. [01:09:15] Speaker B: So that's Dennis. He's. He's writing a. A rooster. [01:09:20] Speaker A: Yeah. And is this his. Yep, that's his Q3 on the. On the concrete there. That's how Dennis rolls. He hadn't. Didn't have his lucky strap fitted at that point, but he did before the end of the weekend. This was. This was at the start. [01:09:33] Speaker B: Yeah. Before we'd even gone inside, we just shown up. [01:09:37] Speaker A: It was loading day. I think he was just. He was just putting an inflatable cock suit on to go and cheer on the bus that was about to leave the big. [01:09:46] Speaker B: Although there, it looks a bit like a flaccid. [01:09:48] Speaker A: So it was still inflating. [01:09:50] Speaker B: I hear they're a rare. A rare version of the bird. [01:09:53] Speaker A: Yeah. More big bad bus trip. [01:09:59] Speaker B: Yep. [01:09:59] Speaker A: Looking for three volunteers. No, I don't know. [01:10:02] Speaker B: Three of you can't come. [01:10:04] Speaker A: Yeah. I really like this shot of Nick. That's. [01:10:07] Speaker B: Yeah, I do too. [01:10:09] Speaker A: Classic beef up organizing. Dennis. [01:10:14] Speaker B: Do you remember what Dennis was talking about? [01:10:16] Speaker A: The Cosmos in the beginning of the Cosmos? [01:10:19] Speaker B: It was like a TED talk. [01:10:20] Speaker A: Yeah. They were doing sound check on the stage and Dennis stood up there talking for probably 20 minutes about nothing. Yeah. [01:10:28] Speaker B: And we were setting up at the time, setting up the. The lucky stand and he, he was just like. It was like listening to, you know, Brian Cox or Neil, what's his name? What's that guy that. Anyway, it doesn't matter. [01:10:41] Speaker A: Go on this particular frame, even though we can't see it very well because of Facebook is. I love the lines, the shadows, the shadows behind each layer of curtain. So they're stacking away and then you've got this little offset screen in the corner. [01:10:58] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:10:59] Speaker A: Just messing with everything. And then Dennis is perfect wingspan. Like he's about to take off into the cosmos. [01:11:05] Speaker B: Well, there's energy there, isn't there? And it's kind of. It draws you into him to kind of wonder what he's talking about. So I approached all of my shots over the weekend, like a street photographer. I was looking for candid, real moments with people just enjoying what we were doing, you know, being involved. [01:11:27] Speaker A: It was great. I love this shot. Did you shoot this Raw or jpeg? [01:11:33] Speaker B: All Raw. I only shoot Raw. Yeah, but I edit in Fujifilm. Sims in Lightroom. [01:11:40] Speaker A: Yeah, but you do edit them. They're not just straight on the camera. All right. Oh, yeah. Matt just looking bewildered or enthralled by Dennis. [01:11:54] Speaker B: Yeah. This is before trades have even shown up. I mean, you, myself and Jim were in there early. The only other people in there were Craig and the. And the tech guys. So. Yeah. [01:12:09] Speaker A: Oh, look, it's me. It is you and Dennis. I was probably saying, why is the strap not on your Q3? [01:12:18] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:12:20] Speaker A: I gotta reply to Dennis's email. It's a beautiful email. [01:12:25] Speaker B: The one he sent all three of us. [01:12:27] Speaker A: Yeah. But I think I was mid shoot and it was just a lot going on. [01:12:32] Speaker B: Yeah, he was, he was the most valuable player of this beef up. [01:12:36] Speaker A: Oh, for sure. Well, other than Matt. Nick. [01:12:39] Speaker B: Well, of course. But they don't in terms of account. [01:12:41] Speaker A: Because it is there. It's there, it's there. [01:12:42] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:12:44] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:12:44] Speaker B: But he, he just brought the energy like nothing else. Incredible. [01:12:51] Speaker A: A lot of lucky straps T shirts in that shot. [01:12:53] Speaker B: There isn't that many. [01:12:54] Speaker A: When we left, look at this crowd. Was this. So was this just before they let everyone in? [01:13:00] Speaker B: Yeah. So you guys were setting up behind me. I opened the door and stuck my camera through and said, everybody wave. And then I said, what are you waiting for? I'm only taking a photo. And yeah. Got this shot which was everyone about to enter. Beef up 20, 25. [01:13:14] Speaker A: Love it. [01:13:15] Speaker B: Yep. And so many of those people got snagged on our stand. Yeah. [01:13:20] Speaker A: Because literally right inside the door. [01:13:22] Speaker B: Yeah. And people were coming up saying, the leather, I could smell it like. Oh. Touching it like. Yeah. Anyway, we'll do beef up another day. [01:13:29] Speaker A: But yeah, pretty cool. We'll go through all the. All the ins and outs about the photos. That from the welcome. The welcome tour. [01:13:39] Speaker B: Yeah, it was just the Friday one o' clock one. Yeah. [01:13:43] Speaker A: Loving it. Oh, that's. Yeah, these are great. Just a very. What's the word? Authentic vibe of exactly what was going on. [01:13:55] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. [01:13:58] Speaker A: Julie from Nikon. [01:13:59] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:14:00] Speaker A: The Bright. The bright bar in the background. The Alpine. Alpine bar. Oh, getting some embossing done now. [01:14:10] Speaker B: You. You didn't actually do any work over the weekend. That was just a pose shot. [01:14:14] Speaker A: No, not at all. Yeah. Lucinda says great doco style shooting. Yeah, exactly. [01:14:19] Speaker B: Oh, thanks, Lucinda. [01:14:20] Speaker A: I'm so glad you did this because I didn't take any photos. [01:14:24] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:14:25] Speaker A: So it was you. You've managed to capture some memories. Oh, that's awesome. I love that one. I think that might be my favorite. [01:14:35] Speaker B: Yeah, me too. It's just, there's just so much in there that to the, to the casual observer who wasn't at BFOT would just go, what the fuck? [01:14:43] Speaker A: What is going on? [01:14:45] Speaker B: You know, you've got Ann in a bunny suit, you've got cows, you've got our friend Emily's over there with a. [01:14:52] Speaker A: Top off and there's a cow suit. [01:14:56] Speaker B: There's you and your. In your naughty and little nana cardigan. [01:14:59] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:15:01] Speaker B: You know what made a difference for me is that with this camera and I had my, my 30 strap on it, my lucky straps. 30B flop strap. Is it just. It was always on my shoulder. [01:15:12] Speaker A: But you're a wrist strap guy. You always told me you're like, I don't use straps. [01:15:16] Speaker B: No, I know wrist straps. [01:15:17] Speaker A: But this. [01:15:20] Speaker B: Well, yeah, because this, this, especially with the 27 mil pancake on the XC5, it's such a lightweight kit and, and it helped me to talk to people about the products when they came in and asked us about, this is the camera I've got. And I would just put this on them. I'd say, here, put this on. And I say, it just sits perfectly on your hip. And so you always know where your camera is. It's always to hand, it's always there. It's always reminding you that you should take a photo. [01:15:48] Speaker A: Just like mine is in this shot of me in a nine in dressing gown. Yeah, it's on my hip, ready to go. Because at this point I had just shot 800 photos of people in pajamas on the way, including an amazing job. [01:16:05] Speaker B: Because it wasn't just taking photos. You were like a hype man. You were building those guys up. So. Well. [01:16:11] Speaker A: The cows didn't need any building up. They were when they got into the photo booth already to rumble. [01:16:16] Speaker B: Yeah, Lisa. Lisa Leach says it was scary just how comfortable you were in that Nana. Get up, Justin. But hey, did you bother to change for bed? [01:16:27] Speaker A: Funny story, Lisa. Funny story. Got home very late. Like, I was the last. I was the last person along with maybe three or four other people. And Matt and Nick at the hall, we cleaned up, we moved all the chairs, cleaned up all the confetti. We're literally like on our hands and knees picking up individual pieces of like streamers and confetti. And then I got back to the Airbnb where we're staying. Couldn't sleep, so I laid in bed for a little while just watching something. I don't know what it was. And I was probably sitting there for 45 minutes in bed when I realized I still had my nighty on. And I was like, I see. I see the benefits now of the night because I was very comfortable, but I don't think I'll. And cute, actually, it was. [01:17:20] Speaker B: There's a great photo of you and I celebrating. [01:17:28] Speaker A: There's me in the nightie with an alien mask on. [01:17:30] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:17:31] Speaker A: Can't remember who I borrowed that off. [01:17:32] Speaker B: But I don't know where that. I don't know where it came from. I saw a couple of masks, there was a few bananas and there was a chicken. But all of a sudden I turn around and you're looking at me like that. And it actually suited you. [01:17:47] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, these are. I love that composition. Very nice. Did you have to crop many of these? How close were these to what you got in the camera? [01:17:57] Speaker B: I was shooting with mostly a wide, wider lens, but having said that, I was getting pretty close to people to take these shots, so very little cropping in some of them. I think this one, I cropped someone out that was sort of, you know, half in the frame on the left, maybe. I can't remember. But yeah, a little bit of cropping because I've got that, you know that 40 megapixels now. Yeah, I can. I can crop in and feel quite comfortable with it. [01:18:23] Speaker A: Tons of room to crop. [01:18:26] Speaker B: It's such a lovely photo of you, too. It's. [01:18:28] Speaker A: That's good. [01:18:29] Speaker B: Yep. That's the end. [01:18:31] Speaker A: And back to the. [01:18:32] Speaker B: Oh, no, that's not. Yeah, back to the. [01:18:34] Speaker A: Yeah, so I'll. Hang on. Let me get rid of. [01:18:38] Speaker B: Nicholson says gay Mardi Gras. I don't think there's any other type of Mardi Gras, but, yes, you're right, it was a huge amount of fun. [01:18:47] Speaker A: Let me bring up your. How do I do this? I'm going to try and bring up the rest of them. We won't go through all of them, but we can just. You can direct me to some that you want to talk about from your full set before we jump into everyone else's images, if I can find it. [01:19:21] Speaker B: So with all the photos I shot at, while you bring that up, I'll just let people. So all the photos I shot at befop, I put them on a drive and I've shared them with anyone that was in the photos who I actually have the email address for. And I've said use them for whatever you want. And if you're someone in the photo who I haven't sent them to, could you please just forward it on? And all they ask is just credit me. Like, you know, and even if that doesn't happen, I really don't care. But, yeah, I just, you know, I just sort of put them out there and I said to Matt and Nick, just use them for whatever you want. And, yeah, we can go from there. [01:19:57] Speaker A: Yeah. Photos are meant to be used. That's right. Okay. [01:20:04] Speaker B: So I've got that one even in there. [01:20:07] Speaker A: I'll just cruise on through. [01:20:09] Speaker B: Yep. [01:20:10] Speaker A: This is our setting up the podcast stuff. I'm glad you got some shots of this too. [01:20:14] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:20:16] Speaker A: Prototype camera structure. [01:20:17] Speaker B: You pretending to work again? Oh, yeah. Oh, oh, I've made that public. I'm sorry, I didn't realize. [01:20:21] Speaker A: No, it's fine. [01:20:31] Speaker B: There's more of Dennis's cock. [01:20:35] Speaker A: They're everywhere. Oh, dear. So many. So many memories. [01:20:42] Speaker B: So go back to that one of where I didn't include that because technically I didn't take that photo. That's me walking away. So I put my. My camera down on the table with. With Nick Fletcher and said, can you please watch this? Just gonna go help Justin bring some stuff in from the van. And. And then when I went through my photos, I found this amazing portrait of Wes with me walking away. [01:21:07] Speaker A: Gosh, that's nice and sharp. [01:21:09] Speaker B: It is, isn't it? [01:21:11] Speaker A: How do I go back to full? No, still learning this Phoenix slides program. [01:21:17] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [01:21:17] Speaker A: There we go. There's all of our stuff. There's some great shots in here. What. Oh, what an awesome camera for documenting. Just stuff like this. [01:21:33] Speaker B: Everything, literally everything. [01:21:35] Speaker A: Process. I'm glad you got all this. This is great. [01:21:38] Speaker B: Yeah, I thought you'd like all this stuff because, you know, I'd never done this stuff with you guys before, and. And I thought it was worth documenting because it was such a new experience. [01:21:48] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:21:49] Speaker B: Oh, there's Jenny. Yeah. And the gang. Yep. Yeah. [01:21:52] Speaker A: They had so much gear to set up. And that's that photo of the crowd. [01:21:58] Speaker B: Yeah. The gang. Yeah. Look at them all. There's Matt about to open doors. [01:22:03] Speaker A: Yeah. Holding them back. I filmed that. That was. Yeah, yeah, that was funny. [01:22:08] Speaker B: And so you could see from that photo just how close we were to, like, the. So they had to come in through that door. And just behind where I was standing to take that photo was the registration desk where they all get their QR code scanned. And they had to come past. Lucky straps. [01:22:23] Speaker A: Best spot in the house. [01:22:25] Speaker B: Yeah, don't tell anyone. I think we'll have a fight for it next year. [01:22:28] Speaker A: Yeah, I know. [01:22:29] Speaker B: It was. It was a golden spot. [01:22:31] Speaker A: Look how. [01:22:31] Speaker B: And then all of a sudden got. [01:22:33] Speaker A: Yeah, straight away. [01:22:34] Speaker B: Yeah. So all around the perimeter are trade tables. So, you know, Tamron, OM System, Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Leica were there. Nissi wandered like there was just so much going on and people just flooded them. Everyone said that even on that first day. They just got over what they didn't know it was going to be that busy. [01:22:55] Speaker A: Yeah, it was flat out. The only break we got was when they did this little talk at lunchtime and everyone was listening to them. So. And then, and then, and then. [01:23:04] Speaker B: This is the start. [01:23:05] Speaker A: Yeah, it was, it was the light up bright night. [01:23:08] Speaker B: Yeah, it was like 4 o' clock and we had to go and get. [01:23:10] Speaker A: Ready and get illuminated. Everyone covered themselves in fairy lights and it was. It was pretty crazy. [01:23:20] Speaker B: It was a fun night though. And this is you and Jim trying to wire up your camera and your strap after you'd both had a few beers to say the least. [01:23:28] Speaker A: And I hadn't. [01:23:30] Speaker B: No, look at him, he's mine on the bench. They're not yours at all. [01:23:36] Speaker A: I had it working. I don't know if we got any. There are Lisa Leach that. Hi Viz. [01:23:44] Speaker B: Yeah, I said these two fairy outfit. [01:23:47] Speaker A: Yeah, that's awesome. [01:23:52] Speaker B: There's Robin. And then. So this is Light Up Bright. They had this. They had this thing called the Nerd Room, but they turn it into like a set from a serial killer movie and they had a model in there and they were playing the hit like this ultra loud heavy metal music. Like it was full on, wasn't it? [01:24:11] Speaker A: It was full on. It was awesome. [01:24:13] Speaker B: Such a great experience. Yeah. And again, this is, this is where the XE4 just made me feel like I, you know, I was in control of the situation because I was shooting in burst mode and it was very dark and I mean granted there was a strobe going off, but I just put it into burst and put eye detect on and you know, it just did its job. I was so impressed. [01:24:35] Speaker A: And. And the lighting was constantly changing in there. Yeah, all the lights were set to be constantly like strobing and changing colors and flashing. So it was. Yeah, it was a difficult situation. Like there was enough light to focus, but it wasn't easy peasy. [01:24:49] Speaker B: No. But when I went through my. Went through my RAW files, it'd be like a blue light, a red light, a White light, perfectly black frame. And then this sort of stuff would pop up. Yeah, yeah. Oops. Oops. [01:25:05] Speaker A: Still learning this program. There we go. Any idea what your settings were? I can tell that. What is it? What do I press? It's H. No, I. I'm still learning, but I'm getting there. F2 1000, ISO 1. Over 1 80th of a second. [01:25:41] Speaker B: It was so much fun to shoot. [01:25:43] Speaker A: Yeah, that was super cool down there. [01:25:46] Speaker B: Yeah. And then this was the pit stop. So you guys might have seen what some of the earlier photos that Justin went through. There was a, like, what looked like an old sort of 1940s, 50s diner. It's actually a new. Looks like a new restaurant in Bright. And they'd taken over befop. Had taken over the restaurant. So they had a couple of models, they had lights and people were just walking through all. You know, we're all covered in lighting and we would just walk in and take a couple of shots and walk out to the next spot. It was amazing. [01:26:16] Speaker A: Yeah, they had. They had like a continuous light set up in there and. [01:26:20] Speaker B: Yeah, this must be the next day. [01:26:22] Speaker A: Oh, it's jumped to the next day. Oh, yeah, the Fujifilm beanies. [01:26:25] Speaker B: So this is the pajama party. [01:26:27] Speaker A: Put a beanie in everyone's. [01:26:29] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:26:30] Speaker A: Show bag. And then to win a prize, you had to be wearing your beanie. It's pretty clever marketing. [01:26:37] Speaker B: Yeah, it was. It was. It was cool, though. Yep. [01:26:43] Speaker A: Yeah. Funny. There she is. There I am. [01:26:46] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:26:48] Speaker A: Me taking photos as people entered. Yeah, there's B1 and B2. That was out the little photo booth I was using. Yeah, the camera house gang, they got right into it with their pajamas. There's. There's the cows. [01:27:00] Speaker B: I really like this shot. I took this shot because of the. The lady in the background. That's not a cow. Well, I don't know her personally, but she's not dressed as a cow. And it's like she's being like mobbed by these. These furries, you know, these people in Munzees. [01:27:15] Speaker A: A stampede, if you will. [01:27:16] Speaker B: Yeah, if you will. [01:27:18] Speaker A: Oh, that's a good one. [01:27:19] Speaker B: And there's Emily. [01:27:23] Speaker A: Yeah, the shots I've got of them from this bitter. [01:27:25] Speaker B: So, yeah, that was fun. They were having so much fun too. And then these. The shot. This is the. Yeah. Where the next one comes up with. [01:27:38] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, that one. [01:27:39] Speaker B: This one. [01:27:40] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, love that one. [01:27:42] Speaker B: And I know that the horizon's crooked and all of that. I didn't care. It just looked good. [01:27:46] Speaker A: Nah, it doesn't. No. That need. That doesn't need any changing. That one. That's great, too. The models. Oh, I see. [01:27:59] Speaker B: Just got here. What have I missed? What's going on with the cows stampeding? [01:28:05] Speaker A: We're looking through Greg's photos, but we are going to do. If we can, if you have any time, Nick, we do want to try and get you on for a full BFOP recap, but I know you're very busy, so we'll see. So this is just a. This is. We called this bit. You can't see it at the moment, but we called it Greg's fop or the G Fop. Right. Oh, Bruce. [01:28:30] Speaker B: So they're all the. And there's Brucey in the middle. So these guys are all the performers and models that CJ now looks after. And they were, you know, they were there on both of the nights, you know, just having. [01:28:44] Speaker A: They're working hard. [01:28:45] Speaker B: They were working really hard. [01:28:48] Speaker A: Yeah, for a lot of it. They were. They were posing for people endlessly for photos because that was what they were there to do, obviously, but it would not be an easy job. [01:28:56] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:28:58] Speaker A: They're having fun at the pajama party. A lot of photos of me. I like it. Oh, there I am. [01:29:05] Speaker B: Well, you're very photogenic and you do look beautiful. [01:29:09] Speaker A: Yeah, I like that one. [01:29:10] Speaker B: That's my favorite shot. I think it just. Somehow it works. I know it's chicken. It just works. [01:29:17] Speaker A: It does work. Those pajamas. Yeah. [01:29:25] Speaker B: That was great. [01:29:28] Speaker A: Brilliant. I love how everyone. Everyone got into it. [01:29:33] Speaker B: Yeah. There's Nigel. [01:29:37] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:29:37] Speaker B: Camera house. Tim C Armis. [01:29:40] Speaker A: Tim C Armis. [01:29:41] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:29:42] Speaker A: Legend. Anyway, there's. We could go through all these all night. We must be coming close to the end. [01:29:53] Speaker B: Yeah, we're almost at the end. I don't think I did much on the Sunday stands. [01:30:02] Speaker A: That's it. [01:30:03] Speaker B: That's it. There it is. They're my photos. Well, yeah, the ones that I decided to publish anyway. [01:30:10] Speaker A: I'm sure there's more. Very cool. It was a wonderful weekend. We'll go deeper into it at some stage when we've definitely had a chance to recap. And I wouldn't mind bringing up some photos from everybody else that was there. Maybe we'll just trawl through the Facebook page or something. I don't know how we'll go about it. And. [01:30:29] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:30:29] Speaker A: Talk about all the different workshops we've got an instructor on this week. [01:30:35] Speaker B: Yes. Yeah. Louise Edgman's coming on. Thursday morning, 9am Australian Eastern Standard Time. No, Eastern Daylight Time. [01:30:43] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:30:44] Speaker B: Louise is joining us. Louise is she's a workshop instructor, private practice, and she's also a portrait photographer and an equine photographer. Yeah. I was having a look through her website earlier today and some of the images are just amazing, like, just. I mean, they're all amazing, but they're just so captivating. [01:31:05] Speaker A: Yeah, she's definitely got. Got a talent. [01:31:09] Speaker B: Yeah, most definitely. She knows what she's doing. Yeah. So they were my images. [01:31:15] Speaker A: Very nice. [01:31:16] Speaker B: Thank you, everyone, for the lovely comments. [01:31:18] Speaker A: Yeah, look at these comments coming in. Craig Murphy. Those were very cool, Greg. John Pickens really summed up the weekend. Cool, Paul. Wicked set of images there, Greg. [01:31:29] Speaker B: Thanks, Paul. [01:31:32] Speaker A: All right, now, if you can buy me some time so I can put Matthew's images in these folders and then restart this thing and then we can go through. [01:31:41] Speaker B: Sure. [01:31:41] Speaker A: Some stuff. [01:31:42] Speaker B: So you do that and I'll do this. So, Paul. Paul has obviously just joined us. You are going to have to catch up, mate. You missed a few things. Lucinda's still in the chat, which is always great to see. I think there needs to be a lucky straps. [01:31:55] Speaker A: Thanks. [01:31:56] Speaker B: Theme next year. I think that could be misconstrued. [01:31:58] Speaker A: That's the point. That would be the goal, to misconstrue it. [01:32:04] Speaker B: Yeah. There's a whole different type of nighttime activity. I don't know that the beef hoppers are really ready for that, Lucinda. Although if you come, I'm sure that you can whip them into shape. No pun intended. Lisa Leach has said. I know we covered that one. At least it commented on that just how comfortable you looked in your clothing. But, yeah, BFOP was amazing and we met a whole bunch of great people. We finally got to catch up with some people with some of you guys in the chat. We got to meet face to face and hang out and, you know, share some time and some great, great moments. One of my favorite moments was on the Saturday night, the pajama party. We took a. It was the pajama party. We did the big selfie, wasn't it? [01:32:53] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, the epic selfie. [01:32:55] Speaker B: Yeah, that was the pajama party because everyone had to be in the room. So they took this selfie of, like 600 people with the camera on the stage and they had like these cannons that were shooting some sort of gas that sort of looked like fog, but it came out in, like a jet, a colored jet. They had, like huge poppers and everyone. There was people at the back holding flashes to get nice stars in the background. That was amazing. But that wasn't the best bit. The best bit was that after they wrapped that night, which would have been about 10 or 11. I turned around and all of the models and performers are up on the stage dancing. They did this last year. They love it. And in the middle of them was Tim Cus he was grooving and then he finally came down to floor level because he was up on the stage and he said, you know what they should have done? They should have moved all these chairs back so we could turn into a dance floor. And I had no idea that Timus was, was such a Saturday night, Saturday Night fever lover because he had the fever. He was bringing the heat. He had some moves, I must say. So if anyone out there who went to beop be has any photos, I've got a couple, but they're not very good of any photos of Tim dancing. I, I would like to hold those over him at some point. But yeah, it was certainly. Yeah, ports in. There he is. Travolta baby. He just popped in. How's that? Just jumped in. Travolta baby. Yeah, you. You knew what you were doing, that's for sure. This wasn't your first rodeo, Tim. He's practicing those moves. I knew he'd be good for befop. And I told him, I said, I told you you're gonna love it. He did. But I must say, it was, I mean, we're gonna cover all this up, but it was very cool to hang out with, with people that we've, you know, known through the podcast or known previously. Just hanging out with you guys was just amazing. Like, it was so cool. Everyone brought this amazing positive energy. There's a lot of love for the Camera Life podcast. We had people dropping by the store not to buy straps, but even just to say, hey, you know, we watch the podcast, we love it. We had some people thank us for the episodes, like the, the ticket booking episode or the workshop booking episode and the, the pre pack party. Some people come up. That really helped. So, yeah, it was a lot of, you know, it was great to get that sort of. I mean, we love what we do anyway, but it was great to get that feedback and it helps us know that we're actually on the right path with what we're delivering and, and that's more important than, than anything else. So, yeah, it was, it was very, very cool. It was such a, such a big weekend. It took me a couple of days to actually just be able to feel my feet again. I've never spent so much time on my feet recently. [01:35:34] Speaker A: Yeah, you were working hard. Yeah, Three days in A row? Yeah, Four days in a row. Really? [01:35:41] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:35:42] Speaker A: Because the setup day. [01:35:44] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [01:35:46] Speaker A: All worth it. [01:35:47] Speaker B: Oh, God, yeah. Absolutely. Yeah. How are you going with those images? Because it just feels like you should. You should be all over this by now. [01:35:57] Speaker A: Well, it's funny you say that. [01:36:00] Speaker B: Hey, hey. And we didn't rehearse that earlier. Oh. [01:36:05] Speaker A: Is by the one and only Craig Murphy. Taken this year at Bathurst 12 hour. Just on dawn at the end of Conrod Straits. Beautiful morning light, brakes and Exhaust glowing Olympus EM1X with Pro40 to 150 lens, f 2.8, 125th of a second, ISO 3.3200. [01:36:29] Speaker B: That's beautiful. Look at those breaks. That's crazy. [01:36:33] Speaker A: Love that shot. [01:36:34] Speaker B: That's a great shot, Craig. Oh, and Liz says the same. Great shot, Craig. There we go. [01:36:40] Speaker A: Great one. Very nice. And now moving straight into some from our very own David Mascara. He sent these in last week, but obviously we didn't have a show. They've been just like dangling in my inbox, just waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting now. That's right. I gotta find the email that he sent to let us know because we need to know what he shot these. [01:37:09] Speaker B: On because wasn't he traveling last week? Yeah, at some point he was somewhere else. It wasn't in San Fran. [01:37:19] Speaker A: These are all with a point and shoot. 28 ti, all in the Mission District. I need to bring this over so I can read it. Mission District in San Francisco. Some of this district can be pretty rough. So that's when this little powerhouse camera shines about the size of a phone. Very discreet when walking around. Someday maybe I'll try calling in, if the number works from over here and make sense of. Try to make sense of why people. I'm assuming it means people on the street respond to me the way that they do. I'll be watching your show this week from Kentucky. We didn't have a show last week when you emailed this. [01:37:56] Speaker B: Sorry, mate. [01:37:59] Speaker A: Have a good show tonight. Yep. So let's go through these. [01:38:07] Speaker B: Color. I love it. Yeah, those tones are so beautiful. Did he say what film he was shooting with? [01:38:15] Speaker A: He didn't, but we'll ask him now because he'll probably watch this show tomorrow. David, what film did you shoot these with? Yeah, throw it in the comments below. Yeah, that's cool. Yeah, that's it from David. I think that one's my favorite of that set. [01:38:36] Speaker B: I like the one with the dog because the dog was so. So kind of like white, you know, really? It's really kind of. It's got a presence. [01:38:45] Speaker A: It's a bit of a scene, but, yeah, I think. I think this one's. [01:38:50] Speaker B: Oh, they're all good, aren't they? One with the bike is good too. [01:38:56] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:38:57] Speaker B: Yeah. Well done. Awesome. All right, let us know what film. Love to know. [01:39:02] Speaker A: Yeah, let us know what film these are. Just a couple from BE. From John Pickett. I believe he stole a Fujifilm X100. What do we call it? 6VI. What are we calling that? X106. And he took a few shots of our stand. I'm assuming these are JPEGs, maybe. JPEG straight out of the camera. Just based on the fella. Who's this guy? [01:39:31] Speaker B: I'm wearing my best tracksuit pants there. I love the sepia. [01:39:40] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:39:40] Speaker B: There's my X70. See, that's got a wrist strap. That one's all right. Lisa's saying she can smell the leather from here. That might be that you've. You know, maybe something else is going on for you. Yeah. Straight out of camera, John says. [01:39:57] Speaker A: Yeah, that's what I thought. [01:39:58] Speaker B: Yeah. How did you find that experience with the X100, John? Did you like it? Did you take you long to get the hang of it? Let us know. [01:40:12] Speaker A: All right. Lisa Leach, I need to bring your email up. Can't download Matthew. All of Matthew's images. I don't know what's happening there. All right. [01:40:23] Speaker B: Did I tell you that I convinced someone to buy an XE5 at BEFOP? And they went and bought it straight away. [01:40:30] Speaker A: Really? [01:40:31] Speaker B: Yeah. This customer came up and she already had an XT. She had an XT4. And she wanted. That was her workhorse, but she kind of wanted a second body. And I said, well, this has just come out and it's great. And I gave it to her. I said, go for a walk, have a shoot with it. And. Yeah, and then she came back like half an hour later saying, I just bought one. What? She did? [01:40:51] Speaker A: It's crazy I missed these comments back here. Les Okie said, great shot, Craig. And Nick Fletcher said, craig can take pictures. What the fuck? That's awesome. Who knew? [01:41:07] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:41:08] Speaker A: Oh, dear. And John Pickett says, big change from the R3. Would buy one in a heartbeat. [01:41:14] Speaker B: Yeah. Wow. [01:41:18] Speaker A: All right, now. [01:41:21] Speaker B: Yes. That is the legend. Greg Carrick, the X70. The legend. [01:41:25] Speaker A: The legend. [01:41:26] Speaker B: Oh, it's such a nice camera. [01:41:28] Speaker A: Now, Lisa Leach. [01:41:31] Speaker B: Here we go. [01:41:33] Speaker A: These are some images from BEFOP number one. Now, they're not in order, so you've said number one. And I'm just. I'm. I'M matching them up as best I can. [01:41:44] Speaker B: He's new at this, Lisa. I'm so sorry. [01:41:46] Speaker A: Number one, Mount Feathertop on the Marcus Bell Workshop. Very nice. Beautiful exposure. Nice layers. Number two, getting down and streety with Adrian Ware. And that's got to be. Hang on. Why won't this work? It's got to be that one, right? [01:42:04] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:42:05] Speaker A: Love it. [01:42:06] Speaker B: That's so clever. So cool. [01:42:11] Speaker A: Yeah. Awesome reflection number three, Some intentional. Is it intentional camera movement. Icm. Is that what that is? Intentional? It is. It's got to be from how. What, really? With Bruce Moyle. And that's got to be. [01:42:28] Speaker B: Yeah, it's got to be camera, this one. Yep, yep. [01:42:34] Speaker A: And then finally some more street with Adrian. [01:42:38] Speaker B: Nice contrast. [01:42:40] Speaker A: Yeah. Cool lines. [01:42:42] Speaker B: Is that the hotel where I stayed last year? I think it is. [01:42:46] Speaker A: I reckon it is, too, yeah. [01:42:50] Speaker B: Oh, dying. All right, let's go. [01:42:54] Speaker A: Nick Smith. Nick Smith next. [01:42:57] Speaker B: Although. [01:42:57] Speaker A: What did Nick say? [01:42:59] Speaker B: Oh. [01:43:02] Speaker A: Not sure if the EXIF data is there. Well, I can tell you. [01:43:07] Speaker B: Hang on. [01:43:12] Speaker A: Seems to be F16. 1 8,000th of a second. Doesn't tell us what camera it is, though. Oh, yeah, I'm one. Oh, nice bridge photo. [01:43:26] Speaker B: Oh, I don't remember that befop. [01:43:28] Speaker A: They're not all befop photos. [01:43:30] Speaker B: Oh, I see. Sorry. Of course. Sorry. Sorry, Nick. [01:43:35] Speaker A: Nice work, Nick. What do we got on this one? If we bring the information up. Oh, one as well. F4. Third of a second tripod. Handheld. Interesting. And if I can press this. Oh, yeah. Zoom right in. Look at that. Great work. [01:44:01] Speaker B: Wonderful. [01:44:02] Speaker A: Is handheld third of a second. Reckon you could. Handheld third of a second. [01:44:06] Speaker B: If you've got IBIs, you could. Some people can. Some people can get really steady. [01:44:14] Speaker A: Very nice. [01:44:15] Speaker B: It's like those people that can do, like, you know, that Olympic rifle sports and stuff, but they can just zone in and just take a breath and do it. Nothing moves with om. Yes. [01:44:28] Speaker A: Craig Murphy says with om. [01:44:31] Speaker B: Yes. [01:44:31] Speaker A: Yeah. Good stabilization. All right. Now, finally. I think this was finally some from Matthew, but I'm struggling to get your photos to download. Matthew, I don't know what's happening here. [01:44:45] Speaker B: Are they too big? [01:44:47] Speaker A: They might be. They're all showing up. [01:44:52] Speaker B: Nick said all handheld. Oh, work. Yeah. Really nice. [01:44:56] Speaker A: Very cool. [01:44:56] Speaker B: That's very clever. [01:44:57] Speaker A: I'm just going to remove this and just. I'll just share my screen straight out of this First. But first. What did he say? Didn't realize I had to add a description. You don't have to. Just adds a bit of context. All shot on the R5 mark. II with the 24 to 105.2.8. That was a beast of a lens that you had on that camera. BFOP this year. Just a small portion of what I've got. [01:45:31] Speaker B: All right, let's bring this up. [01:45:35] Speaker A: So this is. This is the thumbnail for the. The vlog that Matthew's working on. It's going to be out tomorrow. I've been told it's. It's going to be finished and on YouTube tomorrow, which is pretty cool, because tomorrow is a good time for the vlog to come out because then everyone watching this show will be able to go over to Matthew Garberg's YouTube channel and watch the Beef up vlog. It'll be out tomorrow. [01:46:01] Speaker B: It will not be out tomorrow. [01:46:05] Speaker A: When will it be out? You need to record some cutaways. Come on, just. We all want to see it. [01:46:13] Speaker B: Get it out. [01:46:17] Speaker A: Yeah, no, no pressure, Matthew, but tomorrow would be a great day for it to come out. [01:46:21] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:46:21] Speaker A: Anyway, okay, so great thumbnail. Love it. What is beef up 2020? What is BFOP 2025? [01:46:30] Speaker B: The vlog. [01:46:32] Speaker A: Oh, nice shot. Danny's lookout. I like that silhouette. [01:46:36] Speaker B: Maybe Friday says maybe Friday. [01:46:40] Speaker A: I don't like. I like maybes. I don't like maybes. It'll be out Friday on next week. Maybe Friday next week. [01:46:51] Speaker B: Wow. [01:46:51] Speaker A: This is. Okay. It'll be out by befop 2026. Yeah. I love this shot. [01:47:01] Speaker B: It's very clever working. [01:47:03] Speaker A: Oh, it's me. Happy. Me. [01:47:06] Speaker B: Look at you. [01:47:07] Speaker A: Thank you. It was me trying to fix the embossing machine with those pliers. That's right. [01:47:14] Speaker B: I remember you're sitting there and a big chunk of metal just fell off onto the table. And I'm like, isn't that hot? [01:47:20] Speaker A: Yeah, it is hot. It is. These things happen. Oh, nice. [01:47:25] Speaker B: Oh, wow. Oh, that just pulls you in, doesn't it? [01:47:29] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, the. What do you call it? The valley in the mid. [01:47:33] Speaker B: Like that. [01:47:34] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:47:34] Speaker B: And the clouds. The way the clouds are kind of. It's. Yeah, it's drawing you in. Yeah. Layers. There's Oakley. Spot on, mate. That's wonderful. [01:47:43] Speaker A: Layers. [01:47:47] Speaker B: Nice. [01:47:49] Speaker A: Great work. Ah, yes, the road. [01:47:52] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. We talked about this on the drive. [01:47:54] Speaker A: Yeah, it's just you drive past it and you're like, that's a photo. [01:47:58] Speaker B: Yeah, you gotta stop. [01:47:59] Speaker A: And I've taken a photo of it before. It didn't look that good. I know Grant's got some shots from there that I think look better than mine, but. Yeah, it's one of those ones. If you got the perfect conditions that is a. Yeah, cracking shot. [01:48:13] Speaker B: Yeah, it's just framed up already. Yeah. Really great work, Matthew. [01:48:17] Speaker A: You see it driving past and you're like, oh. But you don't stop because it's like no. 80 or 100K road or whatever. [01:48:23] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. [01:48:23] Speaker A: One day I stopped. [01:48:24] Speaker B: Yep. All right. Hey, Dennis is back. [01:48:28] Speaker A: Dennis, what's up? [01:48:32] Speaker B: You missed the photos of your Dennis. [01:48:34] Speaker A: Yeah. You missed the photos of your cock. We were looking at him for a while. It's quite impressive. Yes. [01:48:40] Speaker B: Although it was a bit flaccid at one point. [01:48:42] Speaker A: Good looking. Shock. [01:48:45] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. [01:48:47] Speaker A: Dig the framing. Hi, Dennis. Been on an edit or all afternoon and totally forgot that happens when you go into the zone. Brain dead. Well, they'll always be. There'll always be the next show. [01:49:00] Speaker B: Although to be fair, he was here at 10:50 this morning. It was the first. [01:49:05] Speaker A: Yeah, it was the first comment. I love you, Dennis. We love you. [01:49:09] Speaker B: We love you too, mate. [01:49:11] Speaker A: Sorry I haven't replied to your email. It comes through while I was in a. On a crazy shoot and now I'm just. I'm slowly just digging back through my inbox and it requires a thoughtful reply and I couldn't think. My brain wasn't working anymore. [01:49:30] Speaker B: That's fair. You had a huge weekend. It just didn't end for you. It just kept going, didn't it? [01:49:35] Speaker A: I'm looking forward to telling you about this CF Moto shoot. It was pretty crazy. It really was like. So there was eight photographers and more than 10 video guys. It was a massive team. There was a. I should show you that photo. I'll be too hard to find. [01:49:54] Speaker B: We'll do it next week. [01:49:55] Speaker A: There was a. There was like a buggy with a rig on it like. Like that. Like what Chris Benny was using to shoot. But it looked like Batman built it, like. Like it was like all black, bigger and just fully pimped out with this giant camera crane on the top. And it's just like fanging around these paddocks. [01:50:16] Speaker B: That's awesome. [01:50:16] Speaker A: Four guys in it, just like the driver and three other guys. And the three other guys are trying to like, operate video equipment while this driver's driving around. They're just like trying impression. Trying to still like operate their technical equipment. Just. Yeah, yeah, we're talking to him. They were just like, I'm just tired from bracing my body for three days straight, trying to like keep everything steady while this thing's just bouncing around. Oh, dear. [01:50:50] Speaker B: Very cool. [01:50:51] Speaker A: Okay. Is that it? [01:50:55] Speaker B: I think that's it. I think we're done for Today, I think so. [01:50:59] Speaker A: Who else is in the house? David Dare Parker. Recaps Team BFOP is such an inspiring event. It was so good to have you there. [01:51:07] Speaker B: Yeah. And thank you for your time. You were so generous just having chats and we really appreciate it. Everyone was. Everyone was just there for the. The community. It was so lovely. But it turns out that David Dare Parker shouldn't be our next guest. He. He keeps referring other photographers to avoid coming on the show. Yeah, he admitted that as much to me around the. Around the. The. The fire pit on the last night. But David's wife, Martine is actually an amazing, highly accomplished photographer. And so I think maybe we'll have our first couple on. I don't know. I don't know if that will work. Maybe we'll do them separate. Yeah, I don't know. [01:51:49] Speaker A: Maybe we should. I'll think about that. [01:51:51] Speaker B: You do, you do. [01:51:54] Speaker A: John Pickett wants to know if they had ibis in the. In that crazy Batmobile cart. No, but I think they probably hit a few ibises at the speed they were driving. Actually, I've got photos of that too. There was. There's this water feature that all these guys are, like, riding 800cc motorbikes through at speed, where actually I printed a photo out of it. You won't be able to see it. Never mind. We'll look at another time. And. And they'd, like, coming through at full speed, spray like, big enough that I got soaked in it. And halfway through the race, these, like, duck and three ducklings just, like, make a beeline for this. And it was a water feature that was only maybe just over a meter wide and like 4 meters long and the bike go through it. So it was like there wasn't a whole lot of space for the ducks to be there if the bike was coming through and they just, like, come running in and they're in it and everyone's like, no, we're trying to get the ducks out to try and move them off the track before the next bike comes. They went back, like, three times. They. They really wanted to be in that one anyway. [01:53:08] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:53:08] Speaker A: Find that. [01:53:09] Speaker B: This looks like a quiet, safe spot. [01:53:13] Speaker A: Hang out here. Greg Carrick, legendary Greg Carrick says click that thumbs up. Yes, please. If you're watching and you watched along and you want YouTube to help show us to more photographers, please click the. The thumbs up button. And if you're not already subscribed, then obviously do that too. That'd be great. That would be great. And then also, if you really want to spread the love around the photography community, go over to Greg's YouTube channel, watch some of his videos and click the thumbs up on those too. [01:53:40] Speaker B: He just put one up. I don't know if it was today or yesterday about just cutting back to basics about photography. You know, it doesn't matter about the gear, it doesn't matter about the lens, it doesn't like just get out and shoot, be present, you know, and just ways about how you can improve your photography without having to, you know, invest bucket loads of money in something that probably is going to make a difference. Really great video. He always puts out quality content so. [01:54:07] Speaker A: They'Re usually like 5 to 15 minutes long somewhere in that range. Most of them are like 8 to 12 probably. So they're not going to take up a ton of your time. Good nuggets of info and yeah, go give it a subscribe and a like if you haven't already. [01:54:20] Speaker B: Give it some love. But I think we will see a Thursday. So that's a very good reminder just for everyone watching along. Guess what else? I got so many straps. What, what, what, what? [01:55:08] Speaker A: Look at this. A down south photo show. Stubby holder. [01:55:11] Speaker B: Oh yeah. I think with their new logo. [01:55:15] Speaker A: Yeah, I think I'm gonna have to. I think I'm gonna have to figure out how to do ones like these for the camera life for next year. Yeah, something like that or something else small that you can hand out, you know. Yeah, yeah. Lucinda, Lucinda wants to know when the dual harness is coming. Oh, I spent the whole weekend fending off those attacks. [01:55:38] Speaker B: Someone was wanting a quad harness. [01:55:39] Speaker A: A quad? Yeah. Anne wants a quad harness. Like I'm going straight to the octo harness. We're going to do the first eight camera harness. [01:55:47] Speaker B: Yep, yep. [01:55:49] Speaker A: Down south eggs. I don't even know what that means. But I like it. [01:55:53] Speaker B: I can't wait. [01:55:54] Speaker A: Okay. Should we call it? [01:55:57] Speaker B: We should call it. So thank you, everybody, for watching the Camera Life podcast. I'm Greg, this is Justin. He's the boss. Give us a. Like, give us a subscribe. Tickle the bell. So you get notified in your time zone of when we're going live. And yeah, we'll. Oh, and also, don't forget, check out the link to the Liminal Gallery. If you. If you joined us late in the episode, go right back to the start. Liminal Gallery in Geelong needs some help and they're doing some fundraising efforts and they've got a raffle going and some tickets and all sorts of things, so please jump in there.
